Celt, black trousers & long-sleeved white/pastel (solid or striped) coloured crisp shirt will do well. No busy prints! Black jacket or a nice black waistcoat. Grey or blue would be an alternative colour.

And, text me as soon as you set foot in London. Oh, noooooooo...not Ed's Diner. LOL!!! Let's go to Hamburger Union instead. Unless it's a Friday, then of course we do fish.

Lola, my response was going to be a black suit with a rather plain blouse. I guess we think alike.

I don't think you can go wrong with a black suit. Maybe wear a bit of a heel, and if a v-neck, then a nice necklace and earrings.

Tell us more about the job. I can't wiat to hear.

I'd go with the suggestions already made, but add a colorful or patterned vest. (I think maybe it's called waistcoat in the UK, unless I have the terms mixed up...)

The reason: black/white is professional and conservative, but in standard suit/shirt doesn't show imagination. I think in your field, you may need to project the image of someone who, while working by the rules, is also able to take initiative and work outside the box. An interesting (but not loud and not too youngish) vest would deliver that message.

the brown suit with a cream or white shirt, or a navy blue suit with white or pale blue shirt. Instead of the vest, you could also wear a nice silk or rayon scarf.
