You have a pair of black pants that fit perfectly.
What are you likely to wear with them this season?
What is your style if you had to wear those black pants of any style?
It's a good way for us to get a mental picture of one another's style.

I'll go first. I'm likely to wear a fitted turtleneck of something like washable silk and a fitted vest, a menswear vest.

This makes my style "classic with a twist."

What's your style. I'll name it if you tell me what you'd wear!

How about you?

I would wear a large, long shirt that covers my ever-expanding butt. My style would be "classic hideaway".

Sorry, Dancer, couldn't resist! It's hard for me to feel stylish when I am at this weight... But I still have my sense of humor.

I have a few shirts with collars -- long sleeved either bracelet length or to the wrist. Actually shirts, with buttons, and darts so that they're fitted, in soft rayon, jewel colors as I've said before -- teal, magenta, garnet, a yellowy olivey green and also chocolate brown and black. I also like to wear interesting cardigan sweaters -- a light brown with black stitching and square black buttons, a multicolored blue and violet, a red felted wool jacket-like sweater with a bit of embroidery, a fitted teal flecked with brown with a zipper, a deep blue alpaca scoop-neck with a collar

Looks like Dolfin dresses "California comfortable!" It makes sense, Dolfin, not to cover your "butt," but to leave that shirt out and stay cool. Arizona dressing is a lot like that. Dolfin, do you were jewelry with those mythical black pants? Are your black pants denium, Dolfin?

DJ, you would be conservative yet artistic. Your color changes and jewel tones would make your clothing style rich with color and with the look. A cardigan is so very hot right now so far as fashion. With or without a belt, they are very "in." Is that why you wear them or have you always worn them? Are your black pants fitted or loose fit?

Very interesting, two different takes on one pair of black pants.

My two pair of black pants are the staple in my wardrobe. I would be lost without them.

I wear sweaters usually a cardigan or loose fitting blouses some fancy, some conservative, usually hanging on the outside.
I am all for comfort these days.

My pants are fitted. I used to wear belts but my daughter made me quit doing so. I've never had a weight problem, but now that I'm sitting on my butt because of this broken leg, I imagine that could change.
I've always loved cardigans and can remember a time during the 80s when I was looking for one, and the sales people looked at me like I was nuts. They didn't even know what one was!
I do dress somewhat conservatively, but my clothes don't go out of style (as far as I can tell, that is wink ). I've always had a hard time finding pants that fit -- I'm short waisted and my legs are long.
Fortunately, I have several pairs of pants with wide enough legs that I can put them on over my cast (which by the way is black -- goes with all my clothes!)

I must have at least 10 pairs of black pants -- summer, winter, crops, etc. They are truly my wardrobe staple. Today's version: black pants with a black-and-white tweed long cardigan and a red top. (It's very blustery today, like lose your wig off blustery!)

I keep it simple: silver jewelry and black shoes.
I do have some brown and blue, but black is my staple.

I am branching out a bit with shoes: just ordered some silver ones and some red ones, so there's some additional color.

Wow! Black pants dominate!
I would say we have casual consevative here with the exception of Meredith whom I know would dress concervative only with a gun to her head and then I don't know!

Red under the cardigan is saying, "look here, here is the power!" It's a great thing.

Chatty, black pants are the most versital in Vegas and for a former showgirl, they are a staple.

Ralph Laren cuts for short waists, DJ, and leaves length on most pants. You might try his if you have not. Remember he has several lines so try the first couple before you say "non"

Your inseam compared to your height is where it is at, ladies. And DJ, that you have a black cast is blowing my mind and I respect that choice tremendously. How chic can you get? No pink for you!

Yonuh, what would you wear with black pants? You are my bohemian dresser!

Does anyone where ethnic prints with their black pants?

Does anyone wear a belt around their cardigan on the outside? That is O SO CHIC right now.

HA! You definitely know my fashion profile! laugh

The black pants are a staple because I have so many bright or patterned tops.

I also have a lot of ethnic print pants -- elastic waist, elastic ankles, and full shape -- that go with my solid tops.

Everything, of course, with my gorgioso jewelry.

I used to have lots of belts back in the days when I had a tiny waist and sheet metal stomach. Those days are just fond memories now...

Meredith, you still look wonderful! Girls, the first time I met Meredith, she was the queen of PURPLE! Flowing patterned pants, floral top, and purple head scarf to match. We had a great dinner out, remember that Meredith?

Yes, our Meredith IS colorful and I dare say, she can correct me if I'm wrong, would bore easily with the same color pallet everyday!

We also must remember that our Yonuh is also a color wearer in great quanities! She has her own style to be sure!

What would I wear with black pants? I have only one pair of those - they pick up dog and cat hair too easily. I wear red with them; or green; or blue; or purple; or any other color I happen to have in my closet. I like the bright electric and jewel tones. I have worn purple with green; pink or mauve with grey; red with subdued sage green or bright yellow. I wear whatever I feel like wearing at the moment. I don't like prints in blouses or tops - I stick to solid colors - but will wear print or patterned skirts and pants. But my favorite 'uniform' is t-shirts and shorts or jeans with sandals. I don't have to 'dress up' for work, and probably wouldn't work somewhere that I had to be dressy.

Kathy, I remember our dinner well! We had a great time, despite waiting for almost an hour to be seated.

When I travel, I tend to choose one or two color palettes so everything is mix and match. That way, the layers are also interchangeable, and I don't have to bring 87 pieces of jewelry.
A single palette could be purple-magenta-black-turquoise. Or turquoise-lime-purple. Or animal prints that go with amber jewelry (as seen at the BWS bash in Vegas!)

Underweight or overweight (current), I always have had tons of black bottoms. Wool, polyester, jeans and mixed fabrics.

I wear anything and everything. Currently, it is hoodies, sweaters, and muti- colored fabrics. Anything to hide (ineffectively) the obvious fact that I am overweight, and unfit.

Yonuh, dear, you dress like a Tucsonian! Good for you! We have that option here as no one dresses! Even attorneys go to work in sloppy things and keep their suit for work at the office!

I love your mixing of colors though! It sounds very ethnic and fun. Do you not wear your patterns near your face because they tend to take away from you? I don't wear patterns either, no at all, really.. A pattern near my face will take away from my face and on the bottom, my legs. I seldom wear jeans, actually, I never wear jeans but that is my modeling back ground. I do wear casual dresses a lot, mostly black.

I wear a lot of sheer black with something underneath and often pattern different designers with each other.

But, Yonuh, I am over dressed in Tucson all of the time. Even my casual dresses look dressed with all the denium in this city.

I would love to know what you do but you don't have to share that if you don't want to.

Ah, but you can't see my white tube socks unless I pull up the pants to my knees. And that would probably scare the snowplow guys right off this mountain!!

This is such a fun post. I'm picturing all of you all decked out in black and color.

DD, just don't wear the white tube socks over the pants to the knee so the snow doesn't get down in your boots. That's a horrendous look.

For this time of year, I have jeans and I have black pants. The end!

Yesterday, Ross was sick so I had to fill in for him as a deacon at church - which means greeting everyone who steps foot in the church. My first thought was - my black cords are too casual for this service. Ack, what will I wear? If they're too casual, I certainly can't wear my jeans. Let's see. What other black pants do I have? Oh yeah - my black velvet sale pants form Ann Taylor. Easy enough. Black boots, black pants, black belt, with a black under top, and a black, white, and shades of grey turtleneck sweater (the real warm kind). Simple. Added silver jewelry and out the door in no time. Wore it all day - to take Dad to lunch, get his groceries, make corned beef and cabbage, laundry, then back to church for the casual service, to eat dinner, and then to pick up my daughter (though by that time, I wish I was in my jammies). I don't like changing outfits.

What are you wearing today? This might be fun.

Jeans, brown belt, brown Merrills, pink turtle neck sweater, with a brown suede and fur vest (I know there's a name for this vest, but dang if I know it). Then I have a matching set of jewelry that's silver and pink.

Anyone else? Or if you're feeling sloppy today, what did you wear on Valentine's Day? While greeting at church yesterday, it was fun to see all the pink and red clothes, and jewelry. One lady said she hadn't worn her red suit since last Valentine's Day. What a hoot. I don't have a red suit and never will.

Hey, it's only 8am here in CA and it's a school/work holiday, so I'm still in my jammies. Wicking J Sleepwear jammies that are turquoise and white, toppped with my fluffy WARM pink robe (Why does my husband always buy me PINK robes for Christmas?), and my red fuzzy warm socks.

I'm sure I'll be changing into my snowblowing pants after breakfast, but maybe I will mix it up and wear some long RED socks with them today, just to be more fashion-exciting! We've got 8" of snow so far, with an expected 3' by tonight. Did I mention that I'm ready for spring?

I wear very little jewelry, but when I do I try to match it to what I'm wearing. If I'm wearing blacks, greys, blues, then I tend to wear silver. If I'm wearing browns, tans, greens, then I wear gold.

Other colors, like red or purple, I just grab something out of the box that looks good!

Hey, we ended up with only 15" so far, NOT 3 feet. It's still snowing, so we'll see what it looks like in the morning!

I'm wearing a black mock turtle neck dress that is short but not short/short, with leggings, also black and black shoes. Sort of black, high fashioned clog. I wear any jewelry that feels right with black and today I'm wearing a sterling peice that is pretty heavey and a statement.

Why I leave I will throw on a dress length sweater coat with short sleeves that lets your dress sleeve show instead. Arizona is not cold so this is all we can do.

Course, I'm to that place that fashion people get to and musician/dancers can get to where we wear a lot of black. Not sure how it happens but it might be from modeling so many different colours and cuts that we like to keep it simple in our daily life.
