I have a few shirts with collars -- long sleeved either bracelet length or to the wrist. Actually shirts, with buttons, and darts so that they're fitted, in soft rayon, jewel colors as I've said before -- teal, magenta, garnet, a yellowy olivey green and also chocolate brown and black. I also like to wear interesting cardigan sweaters -- a light brown with black stitching and square black buttons, a multicolored blue and violet, a red felted wool jacket-like sweater with a bit of embroidery, a fitted teal flecked with brown with a zipper, a deep blue alpaca scoop-neck with a collar

My pants are fitted. I used to wear belts but my daughter made me quit doing so. I've never had a weight problem, but now that I'm sitting on my butt because of this broken leg, I imagine that could change. I've always loved cardigans and can remember a time during the 80s when I was looking for one, and the sales people looked at me like I was nuts. They didn't even know what one was! I do dress somewhat conservatively, but my clothes don't go out of style (as far as I can tell, that is ). I've always had a hard time finding pants that fit -- I'm short waisted and my legs are long. Fortunately, I have several pairs of pants with wide enough legs that I can put them on over my cast (which by the way is black -- goes with all my clothes!)

I must have at least 10 pairs of black pants -- summer, winter, crops, etc. They are truly my wardrobe staple. Today's version: black pants with a black-and-white tweed long cardigan and a red top. (It's very blustery today, like lose your wig off blustery!)
I keep it simple: silver jewelry and black shoes. I do have some brown and blue, but black is my staple.
I am branching out a bit with shoes: just ordered some silver ones and some red ones, so there's some additional color.

I would say we have casual consevative here with the exception of Meredith whom I know would dress concervative only with a gun to her head and then I don't know!
HA! You definitely know my fashion profile! The black pants are a staple because I have so many bright or patterned tops. I also have a lot of ethnic print pants -- elastic waist, elastic ankles, and full shape -- that go with my solid tops. Everything, of course, with my gorgioso jewelry. I used to have lots of belts back in the days when I had a tiny waist and sheet metal stomach. Those days are just fond memories now...

Yonuh, dear, you dress like a Tucsonian! Good for you! We have that option here as no one dresses! Even attorneys go to work in sloppy things and keep their suit for work at the office!
I love your mixing of colors though! It sounds very ethnic and fun. Do you not wear your patterns near your face because they tend to take away from you? I don't wear patterns either, no at all, really.. A pattern near my face will take away from my face and on the bottom, my legs. I seldom wear jeans, actually, I never wear jeans but that is my modeling back ground. I do wear casual dresses a lot, mostly black.
I wear a lot of sheer black with something underneath and often pattern different designers with each other.
But, Yonuh, I am over dressed in Tucson all of the time. Even my casual dresses look dressed with all the denium in this city.
I would love to know what you do but you don't have to share that if you don't want to.

My snow-shoveling pants are black; am I chic or what??
Only if you don't wear them with white tube socks.

That is O SO CHIC right now. thats big heer too, wide belts mostlie but i have seen a few slim belts...one fashion fix i am gonna have to pass on however as iv not the right figure... i still do jeans and blak proper trousers are for formal stuff, so the rest of my outfit would follow that... not sure if i am readie...hmmm could i change that?

This is such a fun post. I'm picturing all of you all decked out in black and color.
DD, just don't wear the white tube socks over the pants to the knee so the snow doesn't get down in your boots. That's a horrendous look.
For this time of year, I have jeans and I have black pants. The end!
Yesterday, Ross was sick so I had to fill in for him as a deacon at church - which means greeting everyone who steps foot in the church. My first thought was - my black cords are too casual for this service. Ack, what will I wear? If they're too casual, I certainly can't wear my jeans. Let's see. What other black pants do I have? Oh yeah - my black velvet sale pants form Ann Taylor. Easy enough. Black boots, black pants, black belt, with a black under top, and a black, white, and shades of grey turtleneck sweater (the real warm kind). Simple. Added silver jewelry and out the door in no time. Wore it all day - to take Dad to lunch, get his groceries, make corned beef and cabbage, laundry, then back to church for the casual service, to eat dinner, and then to pick up my daughter (though by that time, I wish I was in my jammies). I don't like changing outfits.
What are you wearing today? This might be fun.
Jeans, brown belt, brown Merrills, pink turtle neck sweater, with a brown suede and fur vest (I know there's a name for this vest, but dang if I know it). Then I have a matching set of jewelry that's silver and pink.
Anyone else? Or if you're feeling sloppy today, what did you wear on Valentine's Day? While greeting at church yesterday, it was fun to see all the pink and red clothes, and jewelry. One lady said she hadn't worn her red suit since last Valentine's Day. What a hoot. I don't have a red suit and never will.

I wear very little jewelry, but when I do I try to match it to what I'm wearing. If I'm wearing blacks, greys, blues, then I tend to wear silver. If I'm wearing browns, tans, greens, then I wear gold.
Other colors, like red or purple, I just grab something out of the box that looks good!
Hey, we ended up with only 15" so far, NOT 3 feet. It's still snowing, so we'll see what it looks like in the morning!
