The following was in The Sun, our Baltimore newspaper on May 6, 2003. I found it rather amusing because according to this little quiz I may be significantly sleep deprived. I guess I must need another hour or two.
Give it a try:

Sleep likelihood Points

would never doze off 0
slight chance of dozing off 1
moderate chance of dozing off 2
high chance of dozing off 3

Activity:

Sitting and reading
Watching TV
Sitting inactive in a public place(theater or meeting)
Riding as a passenger in a car for an hour without a break
Lying down to rest in the afternoon
Sitting and talking to someone
Sitting quietly after lunch without alcohol
In a car, while stopped in traffic

Score results
0-6 You probably get enough sleep
7-8 Average. You have mild sleep deprivation
9+ You may be significantly sleep deprived

Funny, I scored 18 and during the week I get 7 hours. Weekends I get less. I thought I got enough sleep. What do I know?

How did you do?

I scored an 11. I know I am somewhat sleep deprived during the week when I am working a 3 day stretch, because I have a 1.5 hr. commute one way. By the time I get home, I have only 8 hours before I have to start back to work. When you factor in time to shower, dress, and makeup, etc. that depletes my sleeping time even more. So I get 5-6 hours of sleep between shifts. With the shifts being 12 hours long...I am totally exhausted at the end of the last day.
