speaking of girlfriends!! my very best girlfriend is here with me while we look over this terrific site. we were just discussing how when we get together and discuss people we always add little side comments about someone that helps us to remember them more specifically. for example: is that the one that smells like sausage?, or she the one with the cherry chapstick in her pocket all of the time just to try to flirt with your husband?... it is funny but even others that are registered on this board (and you know who you are!!!!) have joined my very best girlfriend and i in some of these conversations. it is like a secret language after a period of time that you end up sharing when you are so close to a girlfirend. we say the same things in the same or even different way and mean the same things. does that happen to any of you with your friends? gosh,, how i love my very best girlfriend. i hope you have one too!

I think that many of us use descriptions to recall certain people. So long as we are not being unkind, I think that it is normal. Do I smell like sausage?

I agree...as long as you are being kind! I can relate because I have friends, siblings, my husband, kids, Dad, etc. and we have shared so much of life that when someone is talking all we have to do is look at each other and we know what the other is thinking. It is a fun connection. There are times when the conversation can be heartwrenchingly sad and you look at each other and want to cry because you can wholeheartedly relate to what the person is saying. Then there are the times that you look at each other and hope and pray that you won't have a laughing attack if it isn't appropriate at the time.
