Simple Strawberry Punch

4 pkgs. Of unsweetened strawberry kool-aid
1 can (46 ounce) pineapple juice, chilled
1½ cups sugar
1 quart cold water
1 liter ginger ale. chilled
1 pint strawberry sorbet

In a large punch bowl combine all the ingredients except the ginger ale & sorbet. Mix well until everything is dissolved completely. Add the ginger ale and sorbet. You can add a little more water to this too, depends on your taste. Serve.

***To make a slushy drink, I mix this all together ahead of time ,except the sorbet, and freeze it. Then when I am ready to serve it to quests, I thaw the punch out in the refrigerator the night before. The next day, I add the slightly frozen punch into the punch bowl and let it thaw completely. (That can take a few hours). When punch becomes slushy, spoon in the sorbet. This is a very good punch. It is a cool drink for summer and a very pretty drink for Christmas. Even the non-punch drinkers like it.***

Kool-Aid makes delicious sugar free flavors too. I would also use sugar substitute as this is WAYYYYYY too much sugar for even healthy kids/adults...

cookie, thanks for the recipe. I bet you could use many other Kool-aid's unsweetened flavors, also. I'm thinking lemon or lime, with lime sherbet substituted for the strawberry sorbet.
