HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! There wil be no fireworks in much of TX this year. We are in a severe drought and rain forecast is doubtful. I sound like a farmer, but we live on a lake that is getting very low. We can still get our boat out, however, some others can't. We went on the lake Thursday and it was a beautiful day---80*. We were escorted by at least 2 dozen gorgeous geese. Maybe thats a gaggle------------what does an old TX girl know? Peace, love and joy to all...........LL

We normally never venture out on New Year Eve...but, my son's car decided to quit running, I took him to work and have to pick him up at midnight.
In downtown Fredericksburg, they drop a giant peach and let off fireworks...the kids have gone in years past. My older son and his girlfriend took off to Williamsburg this afternoon. I worry about all the kids until they are home safe.
We use to go dancing till the wee hours of the morning...now I'm lucky to make it past midnight, without my eyes slamming shut.
Happy New Year to you!

My husband, and two grandsons are sound asleep, so I guess I'll go to bed too. Would love to have someone to celebrate with, but they're either to old, or to young. What can a poor woman do around here? Happy New Year all you Boomer's out there! Lynne

Well most of us here went to bed before midnight (although my 18 yr. old rolled in around 2:30) because my husband and his mom and sister had to get up at 3:30 am to drive to the airport. They are trying to get on a 6:19 flight back to NJ. They were supposed to fly home on thursday but the airline messed them up good. They had no one there to check their bags so they missed the flight. Then they were on standby all day and they never got on a plane but their luggage went to Newark!! We tried to get that back for two days but it never came. I hope it was there at the airport this morning for them. No one in this family will ever fly United again!!! No one there even seemed to care at all. My MIL is 82 and on a crutch and she sat at the airport for 12 hours. [ January 01, 2006, 10:19 AM: Message edited by: Bluebird ]
