Soon we'll celebrate the New Year. How do you all celebrate? Vegas has become second to New York and maybe even surpassed them and the town is so packed with people I dare not venture out. I chose to celebrate here at home, I don't invite anyone over for fear they'd have an accident going home. I will curl up on the sofa with my animals and watch it on TV. We can here the fireworks on the strip from my home when they explode. For those who do venture out please watch the drinking and the others on the road that maybe won't.
[Big Grin] HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL [Big Grin]
and may God be a big part of all our lives in 2005.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Chatty

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! all the other Boomer Ladies

There are too many drunk idiots on the road the rest of the year, and New Year's Eve will be an absolute nightmare. Don't forget, everyone in this town drives everywhere.

I will not go near a freeway Friday night, period. My husband and I will make a nice dinner and then rent a movie or two from the video store down the block. None of my friends throw parties because no one wants to drive.

I'm laughing as I write this. There are suppose to be 300,000 extra people in our town tonight to watch the New Years celebration (terrorists dream) but if the wind is more than 10 miles per hour they can't set of the fireworks and right now at 5 pm the winds are 27 miles per. Ah, what a shame. Maybe next year all these weirdos will stay home and make their own towns unsafe and unrully....ha ha ha!!! [Razz] [Big Grin] [Smile]

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! There wil be no fireworks in much of TX this year. We are in a severe drought and rain forecast is doubtful. I sound like a farmer, but we live on a lake that is getting very low. We can still get our boat out, however, some others can't. We went on the lake Thursday and it was a beautiful day---80*. We were escorted by at least 2 dozen gorgeous geese. Maybe thats a gaggle------------what does an old TX girl know? Peace, love and joy to all...........LL

Fireworks are illegal here but we have our own private stash of them. At midnight we shoot off some bottle rockets and Roman candles. Some new years I am even still awake to see my husband and son do it. [Razz]

We normally never venture out on New Year Eve...but, my son's car decided to quit running, I took him to work and have to pick him up at midnight.

In downtown Fredericksburg, they drop a giant peach and let off fireworks...the kids have gone in years past. My older son and his girlfriend took off to Williamsburg this afternoon.
I worry about all the kids until they are home safe.

We use to go dancing till the wee hours of the morning...now I'm lucky to make it past midnight, without my eyes slamming shut.

Happy New Year to you!

My husband, and two grandsons are sound asleep, so I guess I'll go to bed too.
Would love to have someone to celebrate with, but they're either to old, or to young.
What can a poor woman do around here?
Happy New Year all you Boomer's out there!

Well, the practical folks stayed home or slept through, but us party girls are still going strong, well not strong, but semi vertical.

We had a terrific New Years Eve party in the style of the olden days. We talked and drank and danced and laughed and ate. We had silly hats and noise makers. At midnight we all yelled and made noise (no fireworks) and threw confetti and streamers, drank champagne (both alcolholic and non alcoholic though everyone opted for at least a little alcoholic). We exchanged kisses. Snuggled up with our guys and discussed what we wanted to keep from 2005 and what we wanted to get from 2006.

The non-drinkers took the drinkers home and a few drinkers without non-drinking drivers are spending the night. Tomorrow we'll get up late for a great breakfast then us girls will go shopping.

It was great fun and everyone is already planning next year's party. Hope everyone had as much fun as we did.

smile
