Do any of you fine gals live near Florida's, The Villages?
I've friends that just bought a house there and would like to contact a gift shop in that area. I'm not having much progress, here on-line. I had in mind a calendar of The Villages' 2008 events, or a painting of the resort: something like that. Anybody know what site to contact?
Thanks in advance for your time!
Ciao for now...

Bonnierose, I'll write to Lionspaaw, who lives in FL and see if she knows anything about this area. Actually, it might help if you told what area in FL this is, the city.

Sorry, JJ...
I googled it and think it's near Ocala. The Villages are popular with retirees. Many northerners' move there from here. It's quite tempting. If hubby would go for it, I wouldn't mind relocating there, myself. But he won't.
Thanks, jj...

Bonnie, I’m trying to talk my husband into just vacationing in one of those villages, when we don’t have our grandchild anymore, to see how it is. Maybe you can convince your husband to try that out. They offer really nice vacation programs, I get them emailed to me all the time.

I found several "The Villages" in Florida. There was reference to one in Ocala and one in Gainesville and I know we have one down south around Bonita Springs -- it looks like it's just a popular name for another retirement community.

But I did find this link ---- maybe this is it ??

BR, I think the one you're talking about is about an hour from Daytona. If you have her new address, you can find a gift shop using the zip code.

If it's THAT one, it's famous for spreading STDs. It was in the papers and the news. All that viagra and women not able to get pregnant anymore, they went crazy and forgot to use protection. Jeez. I think they got educated and you can shake hands with them now.

jj, I looked up lionspaaw's link. And Anne327 that sounds
really gross. The folks' I'm referring to, are really
into "right, good, Christian socializing"; none of that
hanky-panky stuff. If you research The Villages, it looks like a little slice of Heaven! It's upscale. They have townsquare dances; free meals at the Country Clubs; it's like small, self-contained settlements. Gosh, I hope Saudra's wrong. I hate to see my friends disillusioned in such a horrific manner!
Ciao for now,

Hannelore,
Hubby won't vacation in "The Villages" because we own a
motorhome. He's a pennypincher and would only think that was being unnecessarily extravagant. You know how some men are!!!
Thanks; that was a good idea, however.
Ciao for now
