Many years ago I read a book written by a Doctor from Glasgow. For those who dont know Glasgow is a large city in Scotland. It has beautiful buildings and the people are very sociable and kind but there was much deprivation in the past. And gangs also at one time.Very unlike my own area.
Well this doctor had observed in the 1920's /30's that little girls who were left to care for the family if Mother died menstruated earlier and sometimes before reaching their full height potential. He wrote about how then they in turn often married young and had babies early.Often having troubled labour and delivery of the baby.I know we who lived in rural areas had dairy produce. Also vegetables.Fish from local source and more fresh air.So I have no comparable stories. This doctor had seen for himself this fact.I so wish I had kept the book it would have been worth sharing his observations.
Any comments ladies.
