Thanks Chatty for the quilting catalog. My goodness it's wonderful. Loaded with ideas, patterns, projects, etc. It was so sweet of you to send it to me. You truly are the nicest person. Thanks again, hon.

My pleasure Dee...I got it in the mail and hated to just throw it away and I crochet but thats about it. Renee, a quilt lasting 35 years shows the craftmanship that had to have gone into it.

Oh, Chatty,
I is still so pretty my ML made the pieces of fabric out of the old clothes from her kids , but some of the material did not stand up to the washer and time paid its price on the quilt , but I love it . I had to pack the quilt away to be passed on to my daughter . I do have a lovely quit I bought that was very expensive that I got on sale on my bedroom for the summer months .

There are so many designs that are so beautiful . My MIL would have quilting parties and made each one of her kids quilt to give to them when they got married . A true labor of love.

Love to hear move Chatty and Dee .

Renee

Renee,
No, I've never quilted in my life...yet...I want to learn and have books on the subject that I picked up throughout the years with the intentions that one day...
My have a photograph of my grandmother sitting with her ladies group in church quilting. It was her social time and sometimes she'd take us grandchildren with her. I am hoping to start on a quilting project next year. I'd like to make each of my son's a quilt that they can keep and pass son to their children. Anyone who quilts has my deepest and highest admiration. What a labor of love. I wish I had clothes from my kids when they were little....now that would be cool.

Dee,
I should get it out the quilt and take a picture of it you would just love the design of the bow ties . Wasn't that a wonderful idea of my mother-in-law to do that to make the quilt out of material from her kids clothes . I have seen some quilt you can hang on the wall with a small rod that goes across the top and one that my mother's friend had that her DIL made that had family pictures on it and not sue how she did that one .

Oh, if I were close we could start a quilting group , now that would be fun and the ladies would all sit around in talk about there kids and grandchildren my MIL would tell me . Nice thought !

Have to take that picture

Renee

Renee...yes, please send a picture...I'd love that. And you can bet if we were closeby we'd be all over the quilting group...nothing better than good friends sitting around having fun, talking, eating, and doing what we love to do...Send the pix, hon.
