Well, I haven't posted a lot of details of late....

But after my divorce being finalized late last year....I watched my two kids prematurely leave the nest.

My 18 year old daughter has decided to strike out on her own (she seems to be doing really well)...

and My 16 year old boy is in Maryland going to school. (I've home schooled him his entire life - we both needed a change of pace).

It is absolutely amazing to me how one can adjust and readjust ones life.

Once a wife.....am no longer (after 21 years)
Once a stay at home, homeschooling mom....now an empty nester.

I have to tell you that I do walk around my cute little place, and thank God for all of my blessings. I am perhaps the most blessed gal on the planet.

So....I thought it might be fun to celebrate the blessings of an empty nest.
---------------------------------
blessings of an empty nest:

The other day, I bought groceries and thought, "hmmmm, all this food will be here until I eat it".

I can walk through the house naked OR in my undies, and NOBODY will notice. lol

Things are always where I left them (even if that's on the floor)

When I clean the house - it stays clean....unless I mess it up.

Anybody else have blessings from the empty nest?????

Life is a journey, isn't it.

hugs,

danita

I thought it would be nice to go to the bathroom 'alone' but the cat seems to go with me now...LOL!

Getting to choose the pizza toppings is pretty cool!

There are too many to count for me. I miss the hustle and bustle of the boys being here but thats only because they aren't. If they were, and when they were, I couldn't wait to be alone...Ahhh, the quiet, I love the quiet or playing MY music...
I too like choosing the pizza toppings, LOL, and mamma-mia.

Danita, you have such a great spirit. I love reading your posts.

My nest was empty, then all three were home for a about ten days. Now the youngest two are gone again and it's just us with our college grad.

But when our nest was empty, I loved the easy dinners. Hubby nor I are picky eaters. We can make a dinner out of salad, but that's not nearly enough for the kids.

I also liked going out to dinner whenever we felt like it and only paying for TWO instead of FIVE!

It's been two years for me and I'm STILL trying to adjust! I've been a parent since I've been an adult! My husband has as well so we don't know how to behave without children to be responsible for!
My son left for college two years ago but comes home on holidays so I see him a lot. Still it is really strange not to have a child to think about 24/7. I don't know what to do with myself yet but I think it will come to me.
I had a bout of being needed when my son went to India as an exchange student but he'll be back soon and at his university where he feels very independent.

Oh well, there must be another life that I could have lived if I had not had a child so young. I'll have to find it.
