I am a Leo - A born ruler.Ha Ha Ha...sure. Leo is the fifth sign of the Zodiac and is associated with creativity and drama. Individuals born under this sign are thought of to have a proud, extroverted, honest, generous, self-motivated, charismatic, warm-hearted, and enthusiastic character, but one which is also prone to conceit, possessiveness, gullibility, bullying, rigidity, intolerance, and snobbery. Yep, that's me, A big old bully...NOT! In terms of anatomy, Leo is said to rule the heart, upper area of the spine, and the back in general. Anyone believe any of this astrology stuff? What's your sign and what does it signify. www.wikipedia.com is where I got my definition. Find yours and post it here. Who else is a Leo?...PURRR I am just being curious as to how close this stuff is. It's late and I'm bored, humor me... The sun is my ruler...they got that right! chick

Hey Chick! How many of you are out there? Will the real chick chirp? Ha ha ...Don't Leo's have beautiful thick hair? Do you have beautiful thick hair? I'm an Aries. I think they are known to be independent and business minded. Sounds pretty cold and boring. I rather think I'm an artsy type...but I am business oriented as well. Just found this and copied it: Adventurous and energetic Pioneering and courageous Enthusiastic and confident Dynamic and quick-witted On the dark side... Selfish and quick-tempered...I am not quick tempered, well, yes Hubby can provoke that side in me…but only him. Impulsive and impatient...sometimes and sometimes not : confused: Foolhardy and daredevil...I once was...but now in the creaky old years...I can rock like crazy on our porch swing. I think I'll just believe all the good traits…and we'll ignore the bad ones.

I'm Gemini...the twins... wikipedia said Gemini is the third sign of the Zodiac and associated with youth and versatility. Individuals born under this sign are thought to have a sociable, fun-loving, versatile, lively, communicative, liberal, mentally active and friendly character but one which is also prone to moodiness, inconsistency, superficiality, restlessness and laziness. In terms of anatomy, Gemini is said to rule the shoulders, upper arms, nerve fibers, lungs, thymus gland, trachea and bronchi, structural features of the clavicle, scapula, and humerus. In terms of geography Gemini is linked with the United States of America, Australia, Belgium, Sardinia, Armenia, and Wales. Physically, individuals born under the sign of Gemini supposedly tend to have a straight and narrow nose, long and thin limbs, a well-proportioned chin, a pointed jawline, fine bone structure, large ears, high cheekbones, a wide mouth, a roundish head, finely-textured hair, small hands, and long and slender fingers. They are thought to usually be slender in build and of average height. Among medieval astrologers, Gemini was thought of as a fortunate sign, and its subjects were considered to possess the qualities of intense devotion, genius, largeness of mind, goodness, and liberality. The personality traits seem to fit...including moodiness...and according to some laziness! I do have problems with my shoulders...both have been frozen...(not fun!!) Physical characteristics...I have fine hair...that's as far as it goes... And there are definitely 2 of me!

How to Recognize SCORPIO "The question is . . . which is to be master- that's all."
Look at the eyes they'll be piercing with hypnotic intensity. Scorpio eyes bore deeply into you, mercilessly, as if they're penetrating your very souL They are.He knows what he is and he knows what he is not, and nothing anyone else thinks will change this knowledge. Insults roll right off his back, and compliments don't move him a fraction of an inch. There's a crackling, electric vitality about the very presence of a Scorpio that gives him away. As quiet as he tries to be, such a vital force can't be hidden completely.Scorpio will not pay a false compliment When he says something nice to you, treasure it. You can be sure it's sincere and unvarnished. Yet, there's a haunting sweetness about these people, and often a gentle sympathy with the sick or despairing. Scorpio's touch can be cool and tender, as well as hot.
Scorpio is intensely loyal to friends Scorpio never forgets a gift or a kindness, and it's richly rewarded. Yet he's also heroic, dedicated to ties of family and love, and gently protective of children and weaker souls. Scorpio can do just about anything She wants to do. If She really wants it, it's most definitely no longer a dream.
The SCORPIO Woman "Consider anything only don't cry . . ."
The female Scorpio has a deep, mysterious beauty. She's magnetic, proud and totally confident and she's enormously seductive.
could ya tell that was me!!! celtic

Jane, I'm a Gemini, too. Gemini is an air sign and one of my twins is always out there flyin' - the personality traits do seem to fit both the good and bad twins. If anyone asks, I didn't do it.

Aquarius here, the water-bearer. Do I believe in astrological sign? I will believe it just to have fun. Yes, I do tend to be strong-willed, independent and loner which often misinterpreted as aloof. Yes, I am quite selective of friends...and closest friends are ones I know over past 25 yrs. I'm like a dog that latches onto a good bone! --------------------------------------- Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist, sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity. Both types are strong willed and forceful in their different ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things, they are usually honest enough to change their opinions, however firmly held, if evidence comes to light which persuades them that they have been mistaken. They have a breadth of vision that brings diverse factors into a whole, and can see both sides of an argument without shilly-shallying as to which side to take. Consequently they are unprejudiced and tolerant of other points of view. This is because they can see the validity of the argument, even if they do not accept it themselves. They obey the Quaker exhortation to "Be open to truth, from whatever source it comes," and are prepared to learn from everyone. Both types are humane, frank, serious minded, genial, refined, sometimes ethereal, and idealistic, though this last quality is tempered with a sensible practicality. They are quick, active and persevering without being self-assertive, and express themselves with reason, moderation and sometimes, a dry humor. They are nearly always intelligent, concise, clear and logical. Many are strongly imaginative and psychically intuitive, so that the Age of Aquarius, which is about to begin, is much anticipated by psychic circles as an age in which mankind will experience a great spiritual awakening. The Aquarian philosophical and spiritual bent may be dangerous in that it can drive the subjects into an ivory-tower existence where they meditate on abstractions that bear little relevance to life. On the other hand it can help the many who have scientific leanings to combine these with the Aquarian yearning for the universal recognition of the brotherhood of man, and to embark on scientific research to fulfill their philanthropic ideals of benefiting mankind. When some cause or work of this nature inspires them, they are capable of such devotion to it that they may drive themselves to the point of exhaustion and even risk injuring their health. Both types need to retire from the world at times and to become temporary loners. They appreciate opportunities for meditation or, if they are religious, of retreats. Even in company they are fiercely independent, refusing to follow the crowd. They dislike interference by others, however helpfully intended, and will accept it only on their own terms. Normally they have good taste in drama, music and art, and are also gifted in the arts, especially drama. In spite of the often intensely magnetic, forthcoming and open personality of the more extrovert kind of Aquarian, and of their desire to help humanity, neither type makes friends easily. They sometimes appear to condescend to others and take too little trouble to cultivate the acquaintance of people who do not particularly appeal to them. They do not give themselves easily - perhaps their judgment of human nature is too good for that - and are sometimes accounted cold. But once they decide that someone is worthy of their friendship or love, they can exert an almost hypnotic and irresistible mental attraction on them and will themselves become tenacious friends or lovers, ready to sacrifice everything for their partners and be faithful to them for life. However, they are sometimes disappointed emotionally because their own high personal ideals cause them to demand more of others than is reasonable. And if they are deceived their anger is terrible. If disillusioned, they do not forgive. Aquarians work best in group projects, provided that they are recognized as having a leading part in them. They have a feeling of unity with nature and a desire for knowledge and truth that makes them admirable scientists, especially astronomers and natural historians. They may excel in photography, radiography, electronics - anything connected with the electrical and radio industries - aviation and everything technical. On the arts and humanities side their progressive tendencies can be expressed in writing, especially poetry, and broadcasting, or as welfare workers and teachers. Some have gifts as entertainers and make good character actors (having an ability to mimic) and musicians. The more psychic among them possess healing gifts, especially in curing the mentally sick. Among the faults to which they are liable are fanatical eccentricity, wayward egotism, excessive detachment and an inclination to retreat from life and society, and a tendency to be extremely dogmatic in their opinions. Aquarians can be a threat to all they survey or a great boon for humanity in general. Circumstances - for example, continuous opposition to a cause they hold dear - may cause the atrophy of the openness of mind that is one of the Aquarian's most attractive traits. They may express a lack of integrity in broken promises, secretiveness or cunning. Simmering anger and resentment, rudeness or, worse, a tense, threatening silence which may suddenly burst out in eruptions of extreme temper, these are all part of the negative side of the Aquarian. This can also reveal itself in a sustained hatred for enemies that is capable of enlarging itself into a misanthropy toward the whole of mankind.

TV15 I'm a Cancer too. Homebodies, creative, nurturers, jealous, moody, tend to hide in shells when hurt or provoked, moon ruled, water sign loves the water, make a home a haven of creative comfort, good cooks, great lovers, loyal, passionate.
I'm also an OX, a leader, strong willed, loyal, kind, etc, yadda yadda yadda...
I think they broke the mold when they made me.

I personally don't think God can be limited at all. Only by Himself and His Word. I've wondered on many an occasion if there isn't order, even in the planets regarding their influence on personality? My question is, why not?
I believe that ultimate knowledge and destiny lie in the will of God for each of us, but why can't we be pigeon holed within certain broad constraints? Any ideas?

Whether or not I believe it, the description of Cancer broadly fits my personality. Whether or not I have conditioned myself to fit the constraint of the Cancer sign or whether or not I just DO, is a question that only God can answer and maybe on the last day of my life He will.

Astrology is more of a science to astrologers than a belief system.A belief in God is present in most astrologers. It is a scientific tool, at least, to me. The moon affects us and this is recorded by science and the sun affects us as well. It is simply the idea of other planets affecting us as well. The birthchart is the placement of all the planets at the exact time of your birth and it is believed that those placements, not just your sun sign, affect us and who we are.
It is not believed that the astrology chart defines our life and is a map we cannot affect. It is not believed that the birth chart is written in stone as to who we are, but it can provide many insights into why we are how we are and it can help, as the Reagans and many others believe, tell us the future trends we may expect in our lives. How we react is our choice, thus the live's path is in our hands. The more we know ourselves, the more power we have over our lives.
And so, it is with the idea that a person's traits and tendencies are made up of all the planets positions at your birth, and the TIME of your birth, making us all different. The sun may have been in Aries when you were born, but where the other planets were will make you somewhat different from another Aries.
I thought I would explain this. God, whom I believe in, does not come into my doing of astrology charts, I do not believe it is a belief system, as I said, and most good astrologers believe in God as well.
I wanted to clear this up.

Dancer, through my writing (you have gone to my writing website, right?) In addition to my reading/speaking gigs (next big upcoming: Sacramento in April) where people always comment on how much my reading/words move them, I also get periodic "Thank you for saying how I feel" emails from strangers who have read my poetry/essays on various websites, including Our Voices here. Audiences -- including my regular writing critique group folks, who know what to expect from me -- have often broken down in tears at my words and presentation.
That, and my personality. And my physicality. So yes, I'm a communicator, when I choose to be.
Up until age 17, I didn't communicate with others much, just watched. Watched and absorbed, which is why some days, I'm here but I'm quiet.

I have only done these things for fun in my recent years. I am Aquarius the water bearer. As for what the planets were doing when I was born, I have no idea and no idea how to find out. My husband is an Aries which is supposed to be one of three good signs for me, I guess.

I'm a Cancer as well, Chatty!
I remember being at a fair when I was about 15 years old, and convinced my Mom to let me get my "sign traits" from a machine there. She told me it was a waste of money, but let me do it anyway. I was ASTOUNDED beyond words how accurate that machine was - it was the first time in my life up to that point that anyone (or in this case, anything) had understood me! I remember it was quite liberating to see "me" in print like that, and it sort of validated me. Up until then I had been feeling very much a disastrous mishap of nature, to the point of questioning whether everyone would be better off if I just disappeared.
Somehow, strange as it sounds, this little "sign trait" machine gave me a sense of validation.

Ah Ms Celtic Flame and fellow Scorpio, I agree with both sides of the scorpio characteristics you listed. I firmly believe in "this stuff" and have always been amazed at the details that have been presented to me by someone I've never met before when I've had my chart done. Words come back to me over the years as events occur as something that was "on my chart." I'm thinking of having another one done as it's been over 10 years since the last one and I just think it's cool. I don't live or die by the info I receive but I do ponder what I'm given.

Anne3, I think it's darling the way you admit to your making things a bit harder being stubborn! It's cute, it really is. I love that about an Aries. If they are in the wrong, or if they hurt you, they are the first to say they are sorry and mean it! They are great for that! Other signs will battle it out and tell you it was your fault for some stupid reason but an Aries will say, "you're right," I'm sorry," and move on! A good, good thing.
But truthfully, HOW do you get through to an Aries??? Anne3 do tell? I wish I knew! I have a situation where I so wish I could get through to one!
OH! My older son is Aries. In his first year of college he came in late and saw that he forgot his dorm room key. He didn't want to wake up the House supervisor and he wanted to just take care of it himself, so he lightly kicked in the door~! He was not drunk, he was not high on anything, he was 18 and thought that it was rude to wake up the adult that watched over the house for something like a key becauswe as he put it, "I was too stupid to bring it!" So, guess who paid for one dorm room door? ME, that's right. He was so innocent though. He said it was wrong and looking back on it, he should have awaken the house person.
Sound familar, Anne3?

Just thinking the same thing..I am Virgo, too. And I am not a perfectionist. Many years ago, a good friend of mine who was not very sober at the time, told me that I was a perfectionist when it came to my friends and family..because I put so much effort and empathy into them. I kinda liked that thought .. There´s alot more to Virgo..we are a very strong sign and have strong feelings and beautiful eyes.. ..we also tend to be analytical..we are the only sign (I think) that can get along quite well alone..meaning lots of alone time and be without a partner..we have alot insight and "see" quite deeply and far (hence the beautiful mysterious eyes ). Good manners and beautiful clothing are important to us (I wear jeans all the time and burp at home, when the need occurs..hmmm.. well, I do have tummy problems...which is also true of Virgo..digestive problems are Virgo´s thing) BUT I NEVER go out of the house without make up on..even if I am going to the local food store..which is very small and very local. So that´s why I have enjoyed dancer´s tips on makeup very much. We are caretakers almost to the point of being "too much" and of course, "burning out" ourselves. On the negative side, we do not like to crossed or lied to and are NOT pleasant at all when this happens. We have a STRONG reaction and often tend to NEVER FORGET. We are painfully truthful and therefore a bit difficult to get along with. We are VERY bitchy when things don´t go our way... Our partner should be a capricorn and this bond is the strongest in the zodiac.. etc. etc. (I was married to a capricorn for many years..but not any more..) I don´t know what I believe, but I think it´s fun anyway. My brother-in-law is a doctor and he uses the signs to help him reach his patients and give them the care and response they need. I said..he uses them as a HELP..not the only tool, of course. He thinks the signs have helped in quite a few situations.

Ah, wonderous Virgos! They may not be "neat freaks," but choose one area in their lives to be perfectionist about. For some, it's the family, for others, it's the job, but it's somewhere! Being a Virgo is not just about being a perfectionist, it's also about sensitivity, and helping people. If I needed help, I'd want a Virgo on my side! Rather than tell you want to do, like some signs, they will help you toward your goal! dancer9

My mother is a virgo...she has always put her family first...and is very helpful...
I am Gemini as is my oldest daughter...my youngest daughter and two sisters are saggiterius (sp)
I've always been attracted to scorpio men...even though they are probably the most challenging sign for a gemini...

So, is this why I've been told I have bedroom eyes? I guess I've got most of Virgo's traits except the perfectionist. Something funny, my ex always claimed to be a perfectionist and I finally realized that he expected everyone to make his life perfect and wasn't one at all.

Wow...this is interesting. Celtic and Vicki...I'm a scorpio, too. I agree with most of what you wrote, Celtic, but insults do hurt me and don't roll off my back...I'm too tender hearted and the other part of a scorpio is our tail...I'm loyal and faithful until I feel that I'm done wrong...then my stinger tail can come out. I have to work at not instantly reacting to things that hurt me...(comes with age, I think), but I'm not afraid to use it if I need to. Also, Scorpio is the sex sign of the zodiac...they failed to mention what happens after menopause.

Anne3, Aries is the strongest physically of all the signs of the zodiac. Aries is a Fire sign and the first of the fire signs. It is pure creative energy and the best for getting things started and leading groups in the direction they want to go. An Aries never says never and will knock down walls others are afraid of. An Aries has only one, in my opinion, challange and that is to face fear. They ARE brave but their fear can freeze them into non-action. If an Aries is not actively pursuing a goal they are not themselves. They thrive on action and their creativity is always expressed somewhere. They must have room for their creativity to thrive. Van Gogh was a typical Aries and so is Warren Beatty. The Aries type is, again, pure, innocent, energy towards whatever they decide is what they want to accomplish. They are the tradional white knight, and thrive on saving the downtrodden or weaker than themselves. Fear is the thing that makes them stubborn and they are, inside, very sweet and kind. They are often afraid to show that sweetness because they are busy "braving up," to the next challange. If I were Aries I would make sure to do two things: One is to face my fears head on as soon as I could and the other is that I would work to remember to FINISH the projects I started! They are who you want on your side when things get tough because they will champion a cause, and do it first if they believe in it. Again, Fear is the enemy of an Aries.
I am a third generation astrologer so if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. My sister is published on the subject.
Go get um! dancer has an Aries son.

hehehe, Anne. That's our dancer...she knows all of us and we don't even know it!!! dancer, you explained my Aries husband to perfection. He has TOO much energy and there are times I soooo want to slow down. He also gets into 50 different projects and everything takes too long. He can also "kick me in the butt" when I need it. But you wanna know a secret? I rebel a lot (Aquarius)and just don't care to share it with him. If I didn't (rebel), he'd kill me with his energy. It can be so exhausting with him. We seem to be a fair mix in that I tend to balance him out sometimes but I have to get through his stubborness sometimes to do it. By the way, my first husband of 31 years was a Pisces.

Lovely Lady Jane, All of we Picses are not the same as not all Aries are the same, but there are common traits which I described! If you want the whole picture you need a "birthchart" done!
So, you are an Aquarius? Guess what, Lady Jane, know what made me the way I am? Being raised by TWO of you Aquarians! LOL, I blame them for everything. Actually, those bizarre Aquarians are proud of me.
You are Aquarius. You are a wee bit strange but in a good way and are loved by others for it. You are attracted to and are good at joining groups, ( Like this one,) with different interests than the same ol, same ol. You are not above pulling a practical joke to kick things up if people you like are bored! You honestly love your groups of people and are a humanitarian! Yours would be the sign of MOST of our Presidents, (yes,) and yours would be the sign of those who are public examples for good. You would be the first to take in the neighbor's child if that child were having a hard time and you would put that child on the right road, however, you would perhaps, forget your own children! LOL.
And Lastly, You are way ahead of your time and see things coming before they do. You do this with your BRAIN, (which operates a bit differently, huh?) not with intuition!
Many Aquarians have high IQs. NOW, if we can just remind them that they have to live in the real world too!
Bless you my Aquarian friend, dancer

Dotsie, I used to read the daily horroscopes. I was looking for an answers everywhere. Those horrorscopes don't mean a thing, but seeking answers as a teen, I would try to find meaning in 2-3 lines. I took a class on astrology because my step-mother was into it and encouraged me. She was scary. Some of it was uncanny. Hey, what's this I see above about Aries? I better read through the thread. I am an Aries. Now that I have come into myself, or maybe becoming a more authentic self, the Aries in me is evident. Maybe we should ask not only nature versus nurture, but add astrology to the equation!

Dancer, thank you for saying this about perfectionist. It was on my mind to mention that we don't have to take the term "perfectionist" as we think of it in common use. Obsessive compulsive actions can be "perfectionist" while the house is a pig pen. Repeating something in the mind, like a phrase, or a counting sequence, is a "perfectionistic" characteristic. Much of the astrology has been translated to English from ancient languages, so some words do not interpret as tightly as we might think. I think we might think of these terms more broadly. Just a thought from taking one minor class on astrology and a major astrologist in my family. Humlan, my husband is a Virgo. If Virgos don't like to be lied to then why does my Virgo husband lie? Theastrologers say that Virgos are successful "later in life." Isn't being in your fifties later? Another thing about Virgos: MH is not a perfectionist no matter how broadly I try to define it, and he does not demand it of others. Or maybe because I am a recovering perfectionist Aries he does not have to be demanding? He has called me "hard headed." Aries: think too much.

Aw, dancer, do I HAVE to live in the real world???? I operate so much better if I'm not there...lol!!! Yeah, I'm crazy and zany, but that's how I keep my sanity. I don't like things too serious for too long. Hubby (Aries) and I are soooo different! My first Pisces husband and I actually got along better but he could be very intense at times, too much so for me. Interesting to look at this!
