My husband and I are celebrating our 35th anniversary this June. In August (when we could get everyone together), we are taking out kids (2 daughters, one son-in-law, and one friend) on a 10 day Mediterranean cruise. We leave from Barcelona and end up in Athens. I am so excited for this trip, I can hardly stand it. Although the trip itself will be wonderful, I am most looking forward to spending 10 whole days with the family. Since we live in Arizona and one of our girls and her husband live in Virginia, it will be especially sweet.

Holly,
Our 35th is this June (13th to be exact), too. We also have 2 daughters & 2 son-n-laws.
We're definitely not going to Barcelona, however.
We haven't planned anything, but I have been playing around with some ideas.
With all of the pics orchid has been posting, I was thinking of talking him into flying us to the NW coast, renting a car and driving slowly back to Texas. He drives a great many miles with his job, so I hesitate to ask him, tho.

But I am so happy for you and your plans. They sound wonderful. Take lots of pictures and share them when you return. Of course, CONGRATS on 35 years!

Air Canada currently has a seat sale. I don't know which Texan cities Air Canada flies from..

It's so great to hear about two boomers celebrating 35th anniversaries. Yesterday, I read an article written by a gal from our childrens' generation. She referred to us as the Divorce Generation since we ushered in so many divorces. OUCH!

Holly, I am beginning to realize how wonderful it is to have the whole family together. This is the first year all three kids have been away at college. All three have different spring breaks. I don't know the next time all five of us will be together which I find so sad. My youngest son can't get off for his brother's graduation because he is going for perfect attendance in college, which I admire. Then he can't get home for a family wedding for the same reason.

I bet you're gonna have the time of your life. Have fun preparing.

gimster, keep dreaming. I know you'll come up with something.

Gimster, we were married on June 17th, so we are almost twins...hahaha
I just wish we had the 2nd son-in-law to go along with the other daughter. She is our oldest (32) and just broke up with her boyfriend of 3 years because he suddenly decided he didn't want to have kids.(!?!?!) He was supposed to go with us, but now she is bringing one of her girlfriends. I just feel so bad for her; she does not have much luck in relationships. I hope she will enjoy this trip with her sister and brother-in-law and not feel like a third wheel.
But that said, it will just be so good to have the family all together. It just doesn't happen often enough.

Well, the countdown has officially begun! 30 days from today we will be on the ship, sailing out of Barcelona. Our ports include Marseilles (Provence), Monte Carlo, Florence, Rome, Amalfi Coast, Sicily, Malta, Santorini and Greece. The kids have been talking about nothing else for weeks, and the documents arrived yesterday!!!

We have such great kids, by the way. For our actual anniversary they all chipped in and surprised us at the restaurant we were celebrating at with a bottle of very expensive reserve wine and the seafood tower appetizer, which I think runs about $200! They also arranged for letters of congratulations from President Bush and the FBI Director and had those framed with a wedding photo. We are so blessed.

WOW, I can see you beaming over your thoughtful kids. I wonder who they learned from...

Sounds like a great trip. I don't think your daughter will feel like a third wheel if she has her friend along. I'm surprised you could get tickets for her friend at a later date. That's a bonus. I'd be counting down to if I was going on that trip.
