Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle. The term can apply to several conditions and varies in severity. It is very common among older people.

Hi Louisa,I'm a Mitral valve transplant patient as of 3 years now.There's a good site called www.valvereplacement.com where you can get alot of GOOD info and there are great people that will give you alot of support try it out I'm sure they can answer any of your questions good luck dear,shana

P.S.it's not only for valve transplants but for all types of heart problems they're wonderful
