If any of you live near Atlanta and are interested, I'll be teaching a writing class in March. Here are the details and where you can register:

How to Write Magazine Articles & Creative Non-fiction Essays that Sell
Instructor: Kelly L. Stone
In this course, students will learn the key components of a query letter and how to write one that catches an editor's attention. Key points to writing a compelling article will be reviewed and each student will draft a sample article. Students will learn the differences between creative non-fiction and fiction and be able to identify markets for their own work. Written essays will be completed and read aloud (optional) for instructor feedback.
Fee: $150.

About the instructor: Kelly L. Stone has written for Family Circle, The Toastmaster, Writer's Digest, Cat Fancy, The Georgia Bar Journal, and Gwinnett Life. Her nonfiction essays have appeared in numerous Chicken Soup for the Soul and Cup of Comfort anthologies. Her first novel, Grave Secret, will be released in April 2007.
