Wolfram Alpha - 06/20/09 01:44 PM
Any of you ever used Wolfram Alpha as a research engine?
Just wondered.

They say it gives exact info on individual subjects, as opposed
to a list of related sites focused on a single topic??? Don't
know. That's just what I heard!

Anne327,
It's an answer engine developed by Wolfram Research:

I like the approximation graphs, equations, and specific focus.

I checked it out. It doesn't speak to me at this time. I tried to find the corelations between motor cycle deaths and helmets and it didn't know what to do. I will check into it more sometime.

Anno,
Got to say, IMO all states should make a law that motorcyclists
wear helmets! Every year during bike week in Florida, we hear about several deaths; they are not required to wear helmets
down there. That's scary. This Wolfram Alpha thing I heard about
on the news. But I haven't checked it out; just wondered if
any of you use it. That's all. It looks impressive. But who knows.

I believe it's mostly for scientific data and statistical information, but I could be wrong,

Anne327, I never heard a traffic jam referred to as constipation before. That made me smile!
Yonuh, I think you are right! WB is always doing charts and
graphs and stuff. Perhaps he'll get into it??? Some of it looks
cool!

Hey, who knew? I like the analogous whatever!
