Proof Boomer Tsunami is NOT going wreck economy

I just skimmed a fantastic but quite deep article in a pub called The American Scholar. The article, titled "The Fear Factor", has good news: We Baby Boomers are NOT going to wreak economic havoc on the economy as we grow old, as has been often prognosticated. (Course I never believed that story anyway, but a lot of Gen Y folks did... many of them people we care about!)

I actually think it's the boomers who have provided the economy some degree of stability because of the money they have saved and how they spend their money.

Boomers can't be blamed for living longer. That's their reward for trying to live healthier lives than previous generations? We can't also forget about medical advances that contribute to longevity.

As for the cost of the health care..hmmm how does one weigh elder care against the rising incidence of diabetes 2, obesity in children now? Pretty scary in about 20-30 yrs., unless the younger generations take drastic lifestyle change steps.
