A stunning senior moment

Apparently, a self-important college freshman attending a recent football game took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen sitting next to him why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.

"You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one", the student said, loud enough for many of those nearby to hear. "The young people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, and man walking on the moon. Our space probes have visited Mars. We have nuclear energy, ships and electric and hydrogen cars, cell phones, computers with light-speed processing...and more."

After a brief silence, the senior citizen responded as follows:

"You're right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young........so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little sh**, what are you doing for the next generation?"

The applause was amazing.......

Dotsie,
Oh, that's good! Kudos for the senior! And how true, true, true. That whippersnapper will be a senior before he knows what happened. Tomorrow, he'll stand and look back over five decades and wonder how time flew that fast. Then someone will say to him, "You grew up in a different generation!" And, again, he won't know what to say!!!

What a fantastic response!!!! Love it, Dotsie.

Theres a commercial on TV now that shows a group of women talking, and laughing, looking at wedding dresses. both young an older women. Someone is saying my mother told me I'd know when the right man came along and its true. Then it fades to a minister standing outdoors at a wedding celebration and instead of the young woman tieing the knot it is her mother, the older woman, and then (and this really ticks me off) the commercial is for DEPENDS, to safeguard her on her special day. That to me is so insulting to us Senior women over 55... I am over 60 and have never had the need for DEPENDS... No wonder younger people think people are useless and discusting past the age of 50. I hope other women write a scathing letter to the Depends people, I sure did.

chatty, I haven't seen this but I find it funny and maddening. I read so much about advertisers using booemrs in commoercial, our music, photos of events like landing on the moon, etc. I have a feeling the media company who wrote this thought it would go over because, but NOT!

Chatty,
I haven't seen the commercial you mentioned but sure sounds insulting. However, any person that thinks folks over 50 are disgusting, ain't the brightest bulbs in the package!
At age 50, you're just getting your second wind!!!!
