Mountain, I am not sure what you want advice for, but if it's exercising I think you can rarely go wroing with walking or swimming.

You are welcome to join the BWS diet forum. We post what we eat and our daily exercise.

Mountain Ash if you have a swimming pool near you try to get there daily or every other day and just walk around in the water or do water aerobics. This is the best possible exercise for arthritic joints and really makes a difference in the way you'll/we feel afterwards.

I am shamed face...a bit, that I started the Walking Challenged post, then after day 3 petered out. But yesterday I Did walk around my block, and half way around it I was crying because my lower back and calves were so painful. I am about 80 #'s over weight. There were people here and ther on their porches and I tried not to look at them while I would stop and catch my breathe, take as sip of water.

PArt of what keeps me from giving up all together is the memory of what walking fast and running used to feel like. Like the feeling I have in my Flying Dreams. Fabulous !

designergrl, keep trucking, but go slower and shorter distances to begin.

Oh, and don't be ashamed. Do you know how many Americans join you in being overweight?

Well, I did...just like you said.. walked only one half a block..then back home. Yesterday I used my juicer (read here someone mentioned using one) and made me a cucumber, carrot, grapefruit juice and spring water drink.

Not my usual recipe, but it was what I had and it worked a little like a cleanser and a tonic.

I also did some strength training, instructions froma book called "Strong Women Stay Young" by Miriam E. Nelson, Ph.D

yea me !
