Women Writers of the Desert (WWD) is holding its 3rd annual essay competition. Here's the gist of it, but please read the official rules on the Web site (link posted below) for complete details:

The competition is open to all women (women only). The theme is "My Life-Changing Event" (who doesn't remember one of those!). The closing date for submissions is March 31, 2006. Winners will be announced at the annual conference on May 13, 2006, in Phoenix, Arizona; attendance is not required. Prizes: First Place = $300; Second Place = $150; Third Place = $50; all winners also receive a complimentary, one-year membership in WWD and an award certificate suitable for framing.

Ladies, we want you to do well, so please be sure to read the submission rules carefully and follow them precisely. Here's a direct link to the rules: http://www.wwdonline.org/pages/uploads/essayrules06WWD-WEB.doc

Thanks, Dotsie. We think we're offering women a good opportunity to win a nice prize, and we appreciate you letting us inform those in your community about it.

I've been a member of your site for some time, but I don't post often. I'll work on getting more involved!
