When a friend told me her high school aged daughter couldn't read cursive writing, I was shocked. And that inspired me to do a little research. The result is my essay on the Boomers & Books blog. If you're interested, you'll find it here:

Very interesting...
I research genealogy and the ability to read cursive or copperplate is an asset.Some of the writers in the past have left a legacy of great beauty in their archives.

Age 8 I was taught italic script as developed by my headmaster and an art teacher.We were the trial ..This was then developed in out county thereafter.We had weekly lessons and soon the style became our normal script.I continue to write italic script .
