Baby expected in 2 months

My grandson who came to visit me last week and stayed for hours just talking is newly married and his wife was out with her mother so he took the time to come and visit me and pick up their wedding gift. He and she are expecting a new baby BOY in two months so I have begun making them an afghan for the baby. It will be pale sky blue and white and I have a good start. I have several lovely pink ones already made but since it's a boy I had to buy blue yarn. I love making gifts for people that they can keep and use for quite sometime.

It's such a good idea, Chatty!

I still have the baby blankets that were given to my kids -- somewhere! I'm hoping to pass them on, should I ever become a grandmother...

I suppose I fall into grandmother's age group, ie. 50+.

However my youngest sister who is 10 yrs. younger than I, has a 2 yr. old son.

So not even sure what stage in life I am in!

You're definitely in the stage of a grandmother Orchid. Sounds like your sister had her son late in life.

Congratulations, Chatty. I just love to crochet, especially gifts. That's what I used to do. Now, it's a different story. But baby afghans or blankets are one of those gifts that people like to keep. They are a treasure.

Funny, I just reached that age group for grandma's and I'll be having my first grandchild shortly!

No rush on my part. But pleasantly awaiting the little bundle of joy!!!
