Meredith, I hope you would not mind that I take liberties with your poem without permission but, it is an appropriate tribute to a most beautiful love story and couple.
One Month
If I found out I had one month to live,
What would I do that I'm not doing now?
Don't want to die saying coulda done, shoulda done
Don't want to die saying coulda been, shoulda been.
Like a potter at the wheel I take life and mould it
Touch clay, shape clay
Form it to vessel
Kiln dry, bisque fire, glaze and cool
Container of hopes and love and sorrow.
We can't create earth
But we can turn the wheel
Caress the clay until we build
A pot of grace, amphora of strength
Capable of holding whatever life brings.
What would I do if I had one month to live?
I would love you completely
Attack life with a passion
Follow my dreams
And effect whatever is necessary to become the person I need to be.
I would actively seek happiness
Revel in joy
Strive for excellence
Create beauty.
What would I do if I had one month to live?
Everything I'm doing now.

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful and inspiring couple, Lola! The news has hit hard, as I told Ann, it's as if a member of my own family has been lost. My heart grieves with Ann.

Anno, I had no idea about Dennis's illness. I guess that's due to me joining the forum only this past year.
I have always enjoyed your posts and having just discovered your blog, I am appreciative of your situation, and so glad you are keeping this journal of your journey with Dennis.
I am grieving with you, Anno, and hope you feel the strength of the Lord and this forum as you move forward from today.

Anno, I have been following your blog. As I have also lived thru the caregiving experience your grace, strength and love have really been something to share. My thoughts and love are with you as you walk thru the days ahead.

I am so sad for you Anno. I always admired your love for one another, always enjoyed hearing about your travels and everyday life. Anno, you are in my thoughts and prayers, especially as this week unfolds. I'm praying for your losses of this past year to be filled with new joys that are yet unaware to you. Surely the sun will begin to shine...

Ann, I wrote you a message on Facebook, but would like to add my condolences here as well. You have been a role model for many of us as to what love is all about. Love does fill a heart, and that will never die.

Dear Anno, I feel awful for not visiting the forum sooner. I just read the heartbreaking news and I am so sorry for your loss!
