pork chops Janine - 07/28/06 03:39 AM

fry up 3 pork chops, sprinkling on herbs, whatever you like, pepper and salt.
Add 1 cup franzia blush wine, add .5 cup water, half a pkg Bratten Sauce, [find in a German store] Or I'm thinking maybe beef broth would work the same? dunno.
Add about 2 tsp Maggi Brown Seasoning.
stir it all together. Put a lid on, cook for 40 minutes.
Have husband put water and rice in rice cooker.

When it's done, pour some of the saucy juice over the chops sticking them with a fork to get it down in there.

ick, tried for the 1st time in 29 years to make gravy. Ended up straining it, and browned onions in the pan before putting gravy back in. LOL Put in about .75 cup of milk.

Dinner is done at the same time rice is. YAY!
Put chops on plate, rice to the side, cover everything with
gravy.

oh man oh man oh man

it was absolute HEAVEN. I haven't had food that good in a LONG time!

Browsing and this recipe from Janine popped up. I love pork chops even better than steak. I am trying this one tomorrow. I am always looking for a new way to fix a favorite. I thought someone else might want to write it down or gve it a go....
