Liven things up...? - 09/10/08 01:33 PM

Was gonna put this in serious forum and then chickened
out. THIS IS JUST A JOKE. When I read that [Keeping Marriage Alive] heading I thought, just put a little terpentine on the tail; that'll liven things up! Now that's funny. Don't U think?

Depends on the tail jabber, whose putting in on and who its being put on to. Is that the same as 'hot to trot?'

Know how word associations put certain pictures in your mind's eye. Well that's what happened here. Pouring a little turpentine
on specific manly parts, might smart some and cause a guy to
high-tail it on down the road. That's kind of what came to mind.
Ya know...

Ed2,
A shed, which needs 2 B stripped? I sure there's a joke somewhere in that phrase, as well!

Gosh, don't you just love it when mistakes aren't caught until
the time element passes. Darn!

When I was editing my dad's memoirs, there was a section in it about 'turpentining a dog'... I tried to get him to leave it out. It was such a strong memory for him, he chose to leave the story in. Best thing I could do then was convince him to include a clause, advising readers not to repeat the act. I was thinking of my four grandsons at the time.
Anyway... it's cruel, but something done by mischievous children in my dad's youth - he grew up in the deep piney woods of Texas.
One boy (or girl - either - doesn't have to be gender specific) holds a dog, another rubs the area below the tail with a dried corn cob, then pours turpentine on the raw area. They let the dog go - wild in state.
That's what your 'put turpentine on the tail' brought to mind.

GOOD GRIEF!!! Where do so called children come up with these torturious, abusive, bordering on insane types of games. If it were my child, he or she would understand what cruelty meant before I was finished with them...They would have been grounded nwith NO privileges until they were 30. DISCUSTING!!!!
