JJ, Hubby just came into the office, and asked me if I’m in love. I had such a stupid smile on my face while looking at your singing Christmas card.

Singing reindeer and fruitcake... - 12/17/07 01:44 PM

Jawjaw,
I loved the singing deer. They have reindeer at the Erie County Fair. And the racks that some of them have, would give anybody a headache: antlers, antlers and more antler.
Loved Santa and that fruitcake cartoon is cool!!!

PS, The cow, pig, chicken and horse are in honor of my farmer daddy!

Hannelore,
It warms my heart, to hear of your loving Christmas.
Glad it's turning out in a positive, kind and caring manner!
Happy Holidays my dear American living in Germany!!!!!

Fruitcake - another holiday treat I've never tried. It just looks so - uh, yeeeeaaaaauuuuuuckyyyyy!
What does it taste like, chatty?
Pumpkin pie is my holiday favorite! Over all else - turkey, dressing, cakes, side dishes, etc.

The cards are great!!!! I'm borrowing the one where the reindeer are singing... I have a very specific person in mind to send it to. It'll be great!

Well a good fruitcake is filled with all types of dried fruit, I add green and red cherries and tons of nuts. I make mine with rum so it is very moist as well. You really can't beat a good one, with butter on it, served with hot cocoa...I didn't make any this year, got three calls from people wanting one but I baked too many cookies as it was...

chatty, I have a friend who makes teeny cupcake fruitcakes and they are to die for. I don't think I've ever eaten a whole piece of fruitcake. Some are too dry. But these little suckers are awesome.

Alabama... - 12/24/07 02:19 PM

Hey jj,
On our last trip down South, hubby and I went through the
State of Alabama. It's beautiful there. I certainly was impressed. Well, in Gene Autry's words, "Happy Christmas and Merry New Year." And Holiday Greetings to ALL, plus best wishes to the queen of every great experience and a legend in her own mind!
Prayer and blessings...
