Re: HAPPY THANKSGIVING - 11/23/05 07:30 PM

I thank God for, being a constant in my life.

I'm thankful for, God's precious son Jesus Christ.

I'm thankful for the trials that are sent my way...I grow in ways never even imagined.

I'm thankful for my family, their constant love and support.

I'm thankful for my friends, especially here at BWS. All of you have truly been a blessing.

I'm thankful for my health and the health of my family.

I'm thankful for a warm loving home.

I'm thankful for my animal family.

I'm thankful for all the blessings I have been given that I'm not even aware of.

I'm thankful...I'm not "Tom Turkey"... sitting on the platter waiting to be served up.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: HAPPY THANKSGIVING - 11/23/05 07:37 PM

Happy Thanksgiving.

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving,
but I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards
I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned,
the dark meat and white;
but I fought the temptation
with all of my might.

Tossing and turning
with anticipation,
the thought of a snack
became infatuation.

So I raced to the kitchen,
flung open the door,
and gazed at the fridge
full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey
and buttered potatoes,
pickles and carrots,
beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling
so plump and so round,
til all of a sudden
I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling,
floating into the sky,
with a mouthful of pudding
and a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell
as I soared past the trees,
Happy eating to all!
Pass the cranberries, please.

May your stuffing be tasty.
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.

May your yams be delicious.
May your pies take the prize.
May your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off of your thighs.

May your Thanksgiving be blessed!!!

A Happy and HEALTHY Thanksgiving to all!!!!

I'm just thankful that God gave me a chance at life after surviving two cancers.
Can't ask for more.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you wonderful, loving women out there!

I'm thankful for:

all my friends at BWS and their prayers on my surgery.

That God worked his miracle in my so the Cancer was not invasive.

For my family and children.

For all our health.

For knowing He hears and listens to our prayers

I'm thankful for my husband, my children and the special people in their lives. My dog, and my bird. My extended family. My home, my freedom, and my God.

I'm especially thankful for my computer so that I can stay in touch with all the wonderful people I've met on the BWS board.

Re: HAPPY THANKSGIVING - 11/24/05 07:25 PM

Lord, as your mercies surround us, may we stay focused on returning those blessings with abundance. May we show our thanks to you by doing something well-pleasing to others intentionally today.

Give thanks by giving it away today to someone who needs to hear a kind word.

Have a blessed day. Make the most of it no matter what you are doing. Revel in the fact that you are loved at BWS!

I'm thankful for so much....my family, my friends, my faith, my health, my few talents, my life and my love.

I hope all of my Boomer sisters have a wonderful holiday celebrating the bounty we each have in our lives!

Re: HAPPY THANKSGIVING - 11/24/05 10:41 PM

TVC, I really enjoyed that poem! Thanks for sharing it here.

It's not officially Thanksgiving Day here, and I feel like I'm MISSING OUT...feel like we should be having a big turkey dinner here too!

But I can still be thankful...
for the gift of life,
my husband's love,
the bright sparkle that our granddaughter is in our lives,
that all of my loved ones have made it safely through another year,
and most of all, for the ingenious way that God led me to this Boomer Women's site...this place filled with such incredible women has been the answer to so many lonely prayers, and I'm grateful to each and every one of you who have helped me to rediscover joy, laughter, passion, purpose and belonging.

It IS a blessed day, even without the turkey and cranberries!

Re: HAPPY THANKSGIVING - 11/25/05 02:27 PM

Eagle!

You can make a turkey dinner if you want to!!!!!
(They really are good) = but your idea is the best!!!!!! And you are not missing one thing (except for mashed pot., gravy, stuffing, pumpkin pie and about 5000 calories!!!!)Seems to me that you have already figured out the most important part anyway.......It is a blessed day...as is every day.
