Dancing With The Stars - 09/24/08 10:45 AM

So is anyone watching this year? I nearly wet my big girl panties watching Cloris Leachmon on nigtht one. She is the funniest woman I have ever seen, she had everyone laughing their heads off. GOD BLESS this wonderful 82 years young woman. She has the courage of a saint and one heck of a the personality. Plus she looks no where near her age. The shows worth watching just to see her.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 09/24/08 02:07 PM

I watched it. Cloris is amazing. I heard or read somewhere that she asked to be on the show and they told her no because she was too old. Cloris said she asked 2 or 3 times before they agreed. I think she just wanted people to know that 82 isn't rockin' chair age if you don't want it to be. She does yoga evey day. Cloris flinging her leg up on the judges table shows how flexible she is. She made me laugh! laugh She was fun to watch.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 09/24/08 04:51 PM

I'm watching too and thoroughly enjoyed Cloris Leachmon; what delightful humour (I too loved it when she put her leg up on the judge's table - and her cleavage right where Len couldn't miss it!) I hope she doesn't get voted off too soon; she's not the best dancer, but as Cookie says, she's so fun to watch.

Well darling Cloris was safe again tonight, I am cheering.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 09/25/08 02:30 PM

I'm also watching this season. I think Cloris is amazing. We really do need to challenge our mindsets on ageism. She may be slower than most but she is doing the dances. Love her!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 09/25/08 04:46 PM

Cloris rocks!!!! It's going to be an interesting season...

Does anyone know how they pair of couples? Editta got screwed big time...I mean, come on...you could tell by the look on her face that she knew she wasn't going anywhere with this guy. They need to at least pick people with rhythm...Cloris may be old but she knows how to put one foot in front of the other...Editta's guy was clueless.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 09/25/08 07:17 PM

The only good and fair thing is that when a dancers partner is voted off, the dancer is still paid for the whole season and to me thats only fair as I agree 100% with what Dee said. That guy was a no brainer to be 86'd fast... We will see Editta as we did last night dancing with other professionals throughout the rest of the shows. I love her, and maron what a body...

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 09/26/08 03:22 AM

Okay...tonight...why is Cloris still on? Makes no sense to me. They voted off the wrong couple in my opinion. If I was Ted (I think that's his name, I'd feel pretty insulted...no offense to Cloris).

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 09/26/08 04:41 AM

I think Cloris is left on for the effect. She's funny and upbeat. I agree that sometimes it should be other people going home, but it all is the fan base they have that keeps them there.

I was surprised that Ted went home. I thought it would be the Kardashion girl.

I missed the opening... now I'm going to have to catch up.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/07/08 06:36 PM

I love this show. And Cloris was a trip. She's gone now but I
loved every minute of watching her wackiness. Susan Lucci went
bye, bye this past week. There should be more shows like this.
I can't dance very well. And hubby dances less than I do. But I
love watching other people shake a leg. My guy and I took
line dancing out at Dock of The Bay a couple summers back. We
learned nothing but had a cool time doing it!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/07/08 07:18 PM

I've not been able to watch this season, but for a few parts, here and there. I was glad to see Cloris go, and Susan, too. I'm voting (mentally, because I can't seem to catch a full episode - on any night) for Warren Sapp... I've seen enough of his dancing to know he's my favorite/pick.... personality and talent!
Posted by: chatty lady

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/08/08 02:24 AM

Gims, I so agree about Warren, he is so light on his feet for such a large man and what a shining personality. Now you have to admit I think that Brooke is the best dancer but, Warren is good for his size and its got to be harder for him than for her. Time will tell!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/08/08 02:43 PM

I like Warren; he's a sweetie! Brooke is soooooo beautiful.
But I agree with what Chatty says: It has to be easier for Brooke. Sorry you don't get to watch it, gims. The judges alone
are a trip!!!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/09/08 12:11 PM

Ah the judges...Bruno is so flamboyant while Carrie Ann is funny and giggly and then theres Len who tells it like it is but is a bit too grumpy for my taste. I was in heaven when Michael Flatley was a guest judge. What a gentlemen he is, and cute too!
Posted by: jabber

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/09/08 03:00 PM

Agree. Len is grumpy but I think he's kind of cute, too.
Flatley is cute. And so is Bruno. Carrie Ann is beautiful.
Do you watch "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader"? I saw
the lead singer of KISS on that recently. Gosh he's smarter than he looks! What a surprise!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/09/08 11:30 PM

Guess he'd have to be Jabber, LOL!!! Thats one program I don't watch. I am usually on the Animal channel watching Victoria Stillwell on, "Its Me or the Dog," or "Dogs 101."

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/11/08 03:35 PM

I can understand how anything about "Dogs" would be better
that watching KISS groupies with those masks. Man that band
uses weird makeup!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/12/08 12:30 AM

Ever watched the Gene Simmons family album show? Its really kind of cool and my God is he wealthy or what? I love his two kids and his mother!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/12/08 04:42 PM

jabber, my dad watches Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader. I'd never seen it before until visiting him one night. I thought it was awesome for the kids on the show. That must do miracles for their self-esteem. Though, I think the kids on that show probably don't lack self-esteem to begin with. Good Lord, they are brilliant.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/13/08 02:50 PM

The questions on that show are unbelievable. I've seen Rocket
Scientists, Teachers, and other very, well educated people
reach a 4th Grade level, then flunk out! Some of the things they
ask would blow the mind. Unreal! The kids are great. And you're
right Dotsie, they don't need a boost in the self-esteem department. They already look quite impressed with themselves.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/14/08 12:57 AM

Well Cheryl and her runner partner, the fastest man alive, got voted off, now its anybodies contest.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/15/08 03:04 PM

That young guy there is a cutie! WOW!
Posted by: chatty lady

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/15/08 09:05 PM

Do you mean Coty of Hanna Montana fame, or Lance a member of Insinque?
Posted by: jabber

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/24/08 04:28 PM

Actually both of them are cute. But I guess I mean the guy from the band. Saw some of his band members on there
one night. I don't think he's on there anymore. But he's cute.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/25/08 02:17 PM

Chatty,
I watched Dancing With The Stars last night. I think, I was thinking of Coty instead of Lance. But it doesn't matter. Coty is just a baby, but a cute, little dude just the same. I missed it when he was voted off. Gosh what difficult dances they do on that show. Yet it is totally entertaining. If I could dance half that good, I'd be happy.
Posted by: chatty lady

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/25/08 08:45 PM

Its down to the wire now. By far Brooke is the most talented dancer this season but Lance has really improved and is running a close second. It will all come down to who has the biggest, loyalest fan base. Either of them is okay with me.
Posted by: jabber

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/27/08 03:07 PM

I guess Brooke won and Warren came in second. But all three
were wonderful. I can't dance worth a hoot; but I love to
watch other people dance. This is a great show. And I really
enjoy the entertainment value.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 11/28/08 08:35 PM

I guess Warrens fan base outdid Lances because he is a far better dancer than Warren. Warren did have the best personality though, like the preverbal big teddy bear.
Posted by: jabber

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/01/08 02:52 PM

You've got that right: Warren is a teddy bear. He makes
you want to reach through the TV and give him a big hug.
Lance did become an accomplished dancer; that's for sure.
But I think Warren flirted with the female judge and padded a few extra points for himself.
Posted by: chatty lady

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/01/08 11:51 PM

I also think Warren has a huge sports following that voted for him. He is on the sports channel weekly on a show with other pro players so he is well known. PLus all you said above. I can hardly wait to see who the next contestants will be.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/02/08 02:47 PM

Me too, Chatty. I love that show. I'm looking forward to
seeing the next contestants, too. Gosh, I wish hubby and I could
dance half as good as they do on that program.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/02/08 10:45 PM

My first husband, bless his heart, was an excellent dancer and we entered and won several contests at the American Legion. It was a blast but we were never as good as The Dancing With The Stars dancers, well maybe Cloris! LOL!!!!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/03/08 02:39 PM

Chatty,
That Cloris is a trip! She makes me smile just thinking about
her. Age 82 and can still lift her leg onto a desktop? That makes me smile! Won several contests at the American Legion, huh? What wonderful memories! You are impressive, girl!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/03/08 08:39 PM

It was all my husband, Jabber. Boy that man could dance. I just followed his lead and he had this magical way of making me look good, but believe me he had the dancing talent, and he was so handsome too, he made the girls swoon. Oh poo, now I am all teary!
Posted by: jabber

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/04/08 02:28 PM

Chatty,
My first husband was handsome, too. He had dark, curly hair and big blue eyes. Gosh he was so good looking. The problem was he knew it. And the women were all over him like white on rice. Of
course he couldn't resist their advances! Oh well. You win
some and you lose some. That one I lost! But occasionally things
work out for the best. Hubby number two is a winner. I think he's cute. But the women aren't climbing him! Thank God.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/04/08 10:38 PM

Eagle, my second husband was like that and he owned and operated a very popular cocktail lounge. Every woman wants to be with the bartender and when he is the owner too, well that makes him all that more desirable.

I had a real problem with his flirting in the beginning and said NO when he proposed, BUT he made sure to explain to me all he wanted from those "bar hags" was there money. He never came out from behind the bar unless I was there, so none of them could get her hands on him. He was sure to let them all know, I was his girl, his lover, his wife and that he was crazy about me. Then I was okay with it all, but never the less I always kept my eyes wide open.

In fourteen years of marriage he was never unfaithful to me and he had a million chances. Would I evrer marry a bar owner again? Hell NO!!!

You think men are pigs and you'd be right, they are, BUT women are even worse and I have seen the proof of that more times than I care to recount...

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/05/08 02:38 PM

Chatty,
Women that chase married men, especially men with kids, make me sick. Don't understand how they live with themselves. That fits into the same category as physical and mental abuse. Life is too short to harm somebody else's life. The Word says God is a God of justice. Along those lines, the Governor of Washington apparently allowed installation of a sign that claims religion is a myth??? If those of us that believe in God and His word are right, there'll be lots of folks gettin' back what they've given out. And I wouldn't want to be in their shoes when God decides to even the score!

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/15/08 09:05 PM

The dancers will be appearing this weekend in town. I haven't checked yet to see how much the tickets are, but their tour has begun and they might be coming to your area soon.

Re: Dancing With The Stars - 12/17/08 02:23 PM

Chatty,
That Washington Governor apparently received so much grief from the general public, she reversed her decision to let atheists and various non-conformist religions erect anti-Christian signs on city property. 'bout time!
