Writing competitions - 01/28/04 10:09 PM
Just wanted to post a couple of competitions for those ladies out there who are writers or who have friends who are. First, watch for the third annual Wahmpreneur Fiction Manuscript Competition. First place is $1,000. and a contract to get published.
I took second place in the second annual which just finished up. See www.brighidsfirebooks.com to sign up for e-mail announcements about the contest which are forthcoming very soon.
Then there is the second annual Illuminations short-story competion by www.TyrannosaurusPress.com in which winners will be published in an upcoming anthology. Tyrannosaurus Press publishes sf&f.
Brighid's Fire focuses on speculative fiction, too, but perhaps with a bit wider range of considered genres (including mystery, I believe). They also prefer works that will appeal largely to women.
So send in those manuscripts and be sure to tell 'em garrie sent'cha!
