Craft Shows - 02/19/11 11:29 PM

Once spring gets here we start seeing more and more craft shows so I have been busily crocheting my afghans. I have two nice size larger ones done and am making dozens of babyghans in so many delicious pastel colors. Anyone else gearing up for Spring?

Oh Chatty, if the shipping weren't so expensive, I would order a half a dozen. The three that I have from you, are sooo popular with my grandchildren. And the larger one, is always in our living room. Hubby loves it.
Hope you sell your cuddle blankets like hot cakes!

Your so sweet to say so and I keep trrying to find a way around the shipping fees. If I can come across a really good yarn sale, I could eat half the shipping with no problem. Plus this new Post Office system they have now, "if it fits, it ships." Is much cheaper. Last year I had eight sold and hadn't even made t one for a sample. They are "hot cake" items, and keeping the price reasonable really helps too. My best advertising is word of mouth.

Since I sell all year except summer, it's more of a continuous process.

Enjoy your markets, chatty. Everyone loves a homemade, soft lap blanket! I know I love mine!

Since my hobby turned into a business, it's all year 'round for us. There are many shows locally and we are asked all the time to be an artist at them. But we tend to stick to the juried shows. Lots of them just let in "anything", just to sell spaces, which makes the customers, and other artists, disgusted so they won't go back.

Our local farmers/crafts market will be celebrating it's 40th year this year so lots of events being planned.

I love summertime at our market. After the windy Spring season, of course. And we do two wine festivals, a Renaissance Faire, the Holy Cross Retreat Art Show and a few on the military bases.
