One glorious dream? That is all I get?

I would plan it with D, my heart-mate. I know it would involve being somewhere new, for both of us. There would be a balanced amount of struggle and relaxation. We would be meeting new people, different from us in many ways, but yet we would find the similarities. We would be trying new foods, looking for new experiences and finding how everything we have learned and experienced can help us become better people.

What a beautiful fantasy Celtic…I'm lost in it all ready.

I'd rise up high in a huge balloon and take all the people I love with me. The basket would be so big, that it could carry all of us and a three man jazz combo.

It would be a beautiful warm breezy day. We'd float over snow-capped mountains and watch at eye -level a family of baby eagles learn how to fly. We'd sweep over sparkling lakes and see dots of sailboats below. Green thick pastures covered with colorful meadow flowers would be in full bloom. We'd float over apple tree orchards and the sweet smell of spring would drift right up to us.

We would all hold our hands, and thank God we have each other smiling at one another with love filled hearts.

The combo would play "What a Wonderful World", and we'd sing along...and know the lyrics by heart.

The soft wind current would allow us to spend the day from sunrise to sundown...without needing to go to the bathroom once. (This is a dream, right…I'm in control here.) Of course the picnic basket is full of fresh fruit, light wine and French bread.

Sigh.

I can hear that song in my head now and it is stirring my dreams too. I just want to have a day of fun.
The beach sounds wonderful. Warm breezes and Pina Coladas for everyone. I'd get to meet all of my Boomer Sisters there and we'd just laugh and laugh all day!

24 hours? How many contractors does it take to start and finish any number of home projects?

I guess I'm the practical type.

I so agree, Celtic .... the past is the past. My parents made mistakes, but all I care to remember, now, is the legacy they left me.

However.....

To smell my grandmother's cinnamon rolls baking, one more time.... hmmmmmmm
To walk among the gladiolus my grandfather raised.....ahhhhh
To see my grandpa polishing his coins ..... My grannie and her really bad (I am talking realllllllly bad) cooking at Easter......

The great memories, I would love to feel them, one more time.

To take my hubby, children and year old grandaughter to Ireland. I don't know why but Ireland always seemed like my real home even tho I've lived here in West Virginia my whole life. I want to see Galway where my great grandfather was born. I love everything Irish and my life won't seem full until I see it. We named my grandaughter Delaney Rose. Delaney is usually a last name but we loved it. She fits the name

Re: 1 glorious dream - 05/08/07 07:20 PM

I would be in the middle of the ocean on a cruise ship...with my family and friends...we'd have the ship to ourselves...it would be about 80 degrees and the breeze from the movement of the ship would feel wonderful as we sit and play on deck...

Of course...there's food and open bar for those who want more than my diet coke! LOL!

Just a delightful day of being!

Re: 1 glorious dream - 05/09/07 05:39 AM

I would like people are nearest and dearest to my heart, to stay alive and be able to see them ...until I die.

In reading this thread, I actually felt happy and sad. It's like an ache in the throat...reminds me of the last episode of Six Feet Under, where the show flashes briefly how each family member dies at old age...

How life itself and the future is full of longing. Of such hope. As Shakespeare said life is but a dream...

Just being alive right now, could become a dream to someone else later when we die... Was it a dream, that she was alive once upon a time?

Re: 1 glorious dream - 05/10/07 04:05 AM

I'd be able to spend the whole day in my garden (or a garden) with my dad, mom, sister and my dog and my sister's dog. I'd love to have my nephew there, too. I'd love to instill our love for gardening in him and to open his eyes to nature and all it's beautiful colors, creatures and its peacefulness. The weather would be a perfect 74 degrees F and the sky would be a perfect Montana blue with big white puffy clouds, but still sunny. I wouldn't get sunburned or have to put on sunscreen.

All my favirotie plants would be in bloom - no matter the season. There would be butterflies everywhere and birds singing. Hummingbirds would be flitting around everywhere and one would land on my hand. Rabbits and squirels would be there too, but they would be nice and not eat the flowers.

And I could eat pizza, potato chips, and chocolate and drink Pepsi all day long and not gain any weight or get sick.
