Cleaning

I have an idea to pass along to all of you. A few years ago, a friend of mine and I were talking about how much we hate cleaning our homes. We would much rather be with friends having social time.

After some discussion, we came up with the idea of "clean team". Here is the plan:

Every other week, 3 of meet at the home of one of us. We spend 2 hours cleaning her home, together. We each have our assigned jobs. In two hours, the house is spotless! We caravan together to the next ladies house and do the same there.

Of course, we pick up a sub sanwich and enjoy a lunch together. Then we move on to the final house and clean for the last 2 hours.

Taadaa!!! 3 clean homes, 3 happy ladies, and 7 hours of social time. We love it and we have gotten over the embarrassing "my house is a mess" stuff and just laugh alot.

What do you think?

If my husband new my friends were coming over to clean, it might make him pick up his dirty undrewear off the floor more often.

Candace, great point! All the piggly wigglies in my house might be embarrassed into picking up their cruddy stuff! Teri, what a great idea!

but what if your house is so dirty that it took like five or ten hours to clean and what if you only had one friend?.... i mean i'm not saying this is me or anything but.......

okay, so it helps to have 2 friends. hehe. we usually pick up the clutter first before cleaning day. once you are in the habit of every other week, things stay cleaner in between. you do have to get over the perfectionism thing that the house has to be clean before anyone can see it!!

it sounds like a great way to pass the time -- be constructive -- get to know what your friends have in their bathroom cabinet -- err -- i mean -- sounds like a great idea
