I was psyched up to get on the bike early this morning, in the dark to cycle to the spot where the Olypmic rings have been set up and are lit up at night. I wanted to take some photos.

Meanwhile dearie slept through.
No matter, I used to cycle in the dark on this route but had not done it for awhile.

And forgot how dark it was even with bike lights. Thank goodness I knew the route from daytime memory. It started to rain steadily half hr.within the ride.

Since it was dark enough I missed a cut-off and had to ride a longer one-way route, which meant pumping up a 8% hill in pouring rain and dark.

Needless to say, it truly helps to be a tad fit for crazy situations. Other times, I have been occasionally lost in certain neighbourhoods on bike and after cycling about for over 40 min. and climbing up and down hills, I finally found my way. But again it helps, to become more fit for these unexpected situations!

Note: I still didn't get the photo yet. Hope to soon.

Sounds a bit adventurous to me. I don't think I'd be out biking in the dark! Sometimes I walk in the dark and that's crazy enough for me.

Your love of cycling shines through in this post.
