I read recently that women who sit for more than 9 hours a day are 50% more likely to break a hip than those who sit less than 6 hours a day....Move ladies, move at least every couple of hours just walk around you home or office..

That is good advice. I definitely felt better when I was working a stand up job at the pharmacy. Not at first, at first you feel like you will die but after awhile you get used to it and then my backaches went away and I felt great all over. I never realized it was good for my hips too!

Chatty, and TVC15,
I noticed when I worked in and office my feet would swell if I sat at my desk to long and I haver read if you fly over seas for more then eight hours you can run the risk of getting blood clots if you do not get up on the airplane and move around every two hours.

Oh, If I set to long you get stiff or at least I do . Your right bad for the knees , also.

Renee, I know soemone who needs to wear those support hose when flying or driving for long stretches.

I found those support hose at Hechts' soon to be Macys Dept Store . I think Hanz makes them . Who needs those hose for flying and driving .? I wonder!

She has circulation and vein issues. The ones she has are prescribed by the doctor.
