Numbering Steps

Numbering Steps - 05/10/05 09:46 PM

I have had a struggle with my weight for about the past 10 years, and today I had a really awesome breakthrough.

As I was taking the 2.5 mile round trip trek to the park and back home, I looked at my pedometer and saw the number of my steps.

Immediately, my mind went to a scripture verse Psalm 37:23 & 24, which paraphrased is, The steps of a good woman are ordered by the Lord and He delights in her way, though she fall, she will not completely fail, for God upholds her with His hand.

Sometimes it is just taking the first step and then the next, and the next, 5,951, 5952 - to really feel something exciting in life - Hope!

I have had an uphill battle with weight, that began to lean more in my favor this past January when I had my thyroid removed.

I look forward to the steps ahead and counting every one of them.

Great mini-devo, Wendy! Thanks for sharing that. My pedometer quit on me, and I need to get another one pronto. It kept me 'on track.' [Big Grin]

Thanks Donna, I had to turn off the "talking" part of it though. Was really annoying to hear the canned

Have your or only else had a weird thing with Pedometers that on the same route mark a different number of total steps?

Did the 2.5 mile trek again today and it registered over 7,000 steps this time.

How accurate are these things?

I've been given two. I couldn't get either to work. Then I got a cheap one at the Boomer Expo and it broke within a week. I'm no help.

Yeah, me too. I've gone through 2 of them at $22.00 a piece. I went back to checking mileage from the odometer in the car. However, that's hard to do here in CO where there are hiking trails everywhere. If anyone knows of a reliable pedometer that won't die next week, please let me know. LLL

My husband (the techy one) explained to me that the reason my pedometer had different readings is that somehow I had changed the settings that he had lovingly set for me.

*must have been during the moment I was trying to turn off the "talking" part* =)
