My Thanksgiving and welcome to it...

My Thanksgiving and welcome to it... - 11/29/02 03:21 PM

Well, much to the dismay of the many who thought it would be immpossible, I managed to eat my dinner with my family at my fathers'(a little bit of everything I wanted--and I DO mean a LITTLE bit!!) and be satusfied and full and not get sick or "deprive" myself of anything. Then later, we went to my SIL's and I had a tiny bit of a few things there (I have to eat about every 3 hours to get in enough protein to keep me healthy anyway, so I just waited the time out and then went to Jeanne and Jack's and had "dinner"). I felt wonderful and didn't have any trouble at all. I am so thankful for my surgery!!

I guess this is the first Thanksgiving since the surgery. Sounds like you have adjusted well to the new way of eating. Do you continue to lose weight at this stage of the game? (Not exactly a GAME?!)

Yes, but not at the speed that I did in the first 6 months or so. It wasn't hard to do at all, really. I've lost a little bit more than 160 pounds since last January, with the majority of it between May 1 and now. I am getting double-takes from lots of people, and being told how much I look like my mother now, etc.

I will still lose a bit at a time until I stabilize, and then I will gain a few pounds and remain somewhere around whatever I decide to, although if I never lose another ounce I am happy where I am.
