More You, less me...

More You, less me... - 09/16/03 07:33 AM

"More You,less me" has become one of my favorite lines. I say it throughout my days when I am awakened to the spirit and I journal it in the mornings. That's what this whole faith thing is about in a nutshell.

I have found these four little words to be very powerful.

Do you have anything in particular that you do, or say that keeps you on the right path? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

When I'm having a fretful day....I take a deep breath close my eyes...and say "Peace, Be Still, I give you the gift of Peace"

"Lord, I believe - help my unbelief" and
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"

Lately a line from a song we used to sing in the children's choir when I was small has beeen on my mind:
"He lays to rest our restlessness in Him." I have found it helpful.

I saw an interview on TV last night with Germaine Greer (there's an Australian some of you will know of?) who definitely doesn't approach life from a Christian perspective, but she said something that I found true: "It is our discontent that drives us on".

I think these two ideas are related. Our restless, creative urge provokes us into new and worthwhile challenges in our lives, and if we can find out how to use our creativity in a way that fits in with God's purpose we are doubly blessed and fulfulled.

I'm a firm believer in staying focused on what God is calling us to do. When we can align our will with His our outlook on life changes and we are amazingly blessed!
