A dear 40 year-old friend of mine from prayer group, had a healthy and gorgeous baby girl yesterday. I'm tickled for her.

Last night I was at B&N with my son doing a little book shopping. I had to get The Alchemist for the BWS Book Club so I thought I'd also pick up a baby book for my friend and her hubby.

I asked the nice gentleman behind the INFO desk if he would please show me where the baby books were. He immediately assumed I was the grandmother buying it for one of my children. HELLO! I am not a grandmother, but I guess I look like one.

I laughed and said, "Funny, but I AM NOT the grandmother, nor do I hope to be one any time soon. I am buying it for my 40 year-old friend who just had a baby today. She's one of my peers. "

I'm still trying to figure our why he didn't asssume I was the new mother. HA HA!
