I was reading an article in the local newspaper that was written by a guy whose son grew up playing ball with my son that just left for college.

He wrote about launching his son to a college 2 hours from home last week.

He is very sarcastic and I can usually relate to his column because he writes about his boys fairly often who seem to be the every day run of the mill teenage boys.

In his article her referred to this generation as the three-pronged generation and I had to laugh. [Big Grin]

When setting up my son's dorm room we had 2 surge protectors, extension cords, cable cords (short and long), an extra 3-pronged grouping of 6(whatever that is called), cell phone and razor chargers, and all the regular cords and plugs.

He was very busy hooking up his computer, DVD, TV, X Box, alarm clock, fridge/freezer, microwave, desk lamp, cell phone, razor...you name it!

Now if that was our generation during the college years, what would have needed electricity in that dorm room?

There was no computer,DVD, X Box, or microwave.
There were fridges, freezers, and tv's, but not in dorms.
We wound our alarms and used disposable razors.
And I believe most desk lamps had a switch on the wall. Oh, and what was a cell phone?

This gives new meaning to the power outage! [Eek!]
