I was in tears by the last couple of paragraphs. As a Catholic mother of 8, I can relate to this, but some of my tears were of joy - joy that God has been showing me how to live so I don't end up with a "Could have" bin.
What matters at the end of our lives is what our children thought of how we lived, not the rest of the world.

Dotsie, thanks for bringing this back up. I never saw it the first time around.

Blue, when I first read this I emailed it to one of my sisters through tears. It reminded me of how selfless my mother was while raising all five of us. I just read it again through your eyes and tears are rolling. Isn't she an incredible writer?
