dating at midlife - 05/29/06 01:59 PM

This is a great story about dating at midlife. You're gonna love Kate. I can relate to her moniker "Safe Kate" even though I'm married. She's a hoot and her story shares promise for those who are searching for love at midlife.

Funny how so many of us can relate to our boomer sister's stories. I'm married and could relate to Safe Kate.

One of the questions Contessa Brewer (MSNBC) asked me was what it was like for Baby Boomers dating and intimacy. I told her about o ne of the seven dwarfs: ALL DRIED UP! (vaginal dryness) I told her men needed to be aware that it is an issue some women face as they venture into menopause. I think she BLUSHED because she didn't expect that type of resp0onse from me and it was LIVE TV so there wasn't any EDITING that could be done.

I swear I must be from outer space, in and out of menopause with not so much as a warming let alone any flashes, hot or otherwise. Skin is soft and good, no dryness there or "anywhere." I am not bragging please believe that, I just can't figure out when I hear all of you tell of your discomforts what happen to me? I just say, Thank You GOD every chance I get.

Chatty Lady,
You are truly one of the lucky ones! The seven dwarfs of menopause I reference in my book are: SLEEPY, SWEATY, ITCHY, BITCHY, FORGETFUL, BLOATED AND ALL-DRIED UP...I've been acquainted with all of them at one time or another. But I don't dwell on the misery---because life is to be celebrated! I have a wonderful new husband and he makes me HOT---so I can forget about the flashes for awhile [Smile]

Beverly, have you sent us a copy of your book to review for the newsletter? If not, I hope you do.

All dried up? Aren't there products to use for that? I think there has to be a cure for everything. We can't let this perimenopause and menopause get us down. We have to beat the system, and if we don't have answers, then we need to keep asking questions.

Thank you ma'am.

One more thing...I also have a chapter in the book about dating at midlife. It's called: LORDY, LORDY, ARE THERE ANY GOOD MEN STILL LEFT OVER 40?

I wrote it BEFORE I got married (two weeks ago)
