We have our 4 yr. old granddaughter for a few days. Yesterday was a day that truly warmed my heart. The planetarium put on a show for 4 yrs. and older. It was delgihtful, and my granddaughter chose to sit on my lap, and she wrapped my arms around her as we soared through the orbit. Afterwards her grandfather , "A" and I visited a nature museum. She was fascinated and didn't want to leave. We spent almost 4 hours there. To end a perfect day we visited a café, ordered strawberry cake with ice cream and lots of whip cream. But nothing was as sweet as my little pumpiamkin. She sat on my lap and planted my face with kisses. If that wasn't enough she kissed my hands my arms, ha ha,..honestly, it was Grandma loving time. The place was packed. I think all eyes were on us, and some people even stopped at our table and smiled at my kissing granddaughter. Too cute...and yes, I was in Grandma heaven. That was a day that will sustain me for a long long time.
You and 'A' should be the poster grandma and grandchild for all the world to imitate. The perfect example of how things should be between us and them. I so admire you and know you will always be her precious grandma no matter how old she gets or where she is.
I just needed to share with you how happy I was. She's with her Daddy now, and after a day of three grandchildren I am ready to fall into bed. Good-night my friends, I love sharing with you my highs and sometimes my lows. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too. Hugs. me me me
I couldn't help myself. Here is a short clip of the last two weekends. Those meadows with the thousands of buttercups are right across from our front door. Little "A" ran through them, pretending she was a pony. Of course I had to take pictures! And little Michael and Manuel are such happy little fellas. with the most contagious laughs. And you'll see my Mom too, going on 89, and as pretty as a rose.
Edelweiss, They say a picture is worth a thousand words!!! your video's are worth a Million...I wish I could be half as clever as you are my dear..Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with us...I feel like I can just reach out and kiss those beautiful grandbabies cheeks and smell those glorious flowers...thanks for making my day!!!
Avalon blond, making these video clips has become a new hobby of mine. It gives me so much, because I get a chance to preserve those special moments. I recommend this hobby to anyone who has a computer and camera. You don't even need a movie camera. I taught myself how to make these clips. It took a while, but there are so many helpfull programs to lead you along. Anne and Avalon, if I have brightened your day with this clip, then it sure was worth it. Thank you. :-)
Edelweiss..you have and you DO brighten my days with your videos...keep them coming..:)
I am dying to learn how to share photos and videos on here so I can show you ladies my new puppy Bailey...JJ has taken great pains to send step by step instructions and yet my brain just can't seem to get around it all...my goal this summer is to achieve the art of picture posting on BWS...:)
I have to brag about my very special grandma moment. My daughter is 8 months pregnant and I found out yesterday that the little girl is to be named after me !!!! What a tremendous honor and a great compliment this is for me. It seems to say I am forgiven for a few years there when I was behaving poorly and not a very good Mom. YEA!!!!
EW...I just watched your video again and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy...I love your movies, your grandchildren and your world...what a view you have. I can smell the flowers from here...sending you hugs!!!
Dee, you know that you are a big reason why I make these videos. Without feedback, they aren't as much fun to make. Thank you, Hon. Sending you hugs from way over here.
greene, Congratulations on having a granddaughter named after you. That is so cool.
Dee, Good to read your posts. I was thinking about you; thinking I hadn't seen posts from you lately. But maybe it's just me. Life gets me sidetracked sometimes. Prayers and blessings.
Hey Jabber...I havne't been around for quite some time...focused on facebook and other things in life and just drifted away. I have wanted to come back in and finally decided it's time ...I've missed all of you... Angelika...no, dearest friend, thank YOU! You are my inspiration...I swear if you and I lived in the same town we'd have our own video production studio.
Thank you Jabber, my poet friend. How's your manuscript coming along?
Hah! Dee, our own video produciton studio. That would be so cool. You know, they just gave out Emmies for the best "Short" Films. They are truly works of art. If you get a chance to see them; - do! It's fascinating what people can create within a short film time.
Edeweiss, Tide Dancer Publications has my first book; I'm currently working on the second manuscript. But I have too many interruptions. My son and family [three teenage daughters] are coming for a visit, in mid July, so I'm busy reorganizing the house to accomodate them. Can't wait. I have so much fun with those grandbabies, between theme parks and mall shopping! You know what I mean!!!
Don't forget me. I have iPhoto now!! This is so cool. Dee and Angelika coming back at the same time. I didn't know and I just decided to stop in here today. Honestly, I had been logged out and too lazy to look up the password, but I've been going to stop by for a while now.
After 23 hrs of labor, 4 hours of pushing and finally a c-section my first granddaughter was born 5 days ago. She is absolutely beautiful. Mom and baby are doing just fine. The bad news is that you need a little more help for longer after a c-section - the good news is it means Grandma is needed and wanted for longer so gets much more time with the baby. So for a couple of weeks or more I'm in North Carolina being chief cook and bottle washer and enjoying every single minute of it!
Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter, Greene. That is fabulous news! And the fact that "granny" is needed is even better news. You get all the bonding from the get-go. Cool!
I am absolutely in grandmother heaven. And, yes, she does smell delicious. I fear I will cry the entire drive back to Georgia in a couple of weeks, but for now I am putting that out of my head.
The new family is doing great. We had a pleasant month together while getting my daughter back on her feet and ready to take over. I can't think of anything more rewarding than getting to spend this time with them. It is all made even better because there were times during my drinking that I wasn't a great mom but all is back to normal now and great. It is nice to feel forgiven and accepte and loved again.
Congratulations Greene. Nothing like being a grandmother. It's the best title in the world. Love it. And I can hear "the love" in your posts, YOU LOVE IT TOO! Oh yes!!!
