OK, Christmas I*S* coming up!

How would you all feel about having a BWS White Elephant, using things we already have or things we make ourselves... keep it @ a minimal cost... then there'd be shipping.
I think it'd be a hoot...

Part of me thinks it would be fun, another part of me doesn't. Last year (or was it year before last?) we did a gift exchange. Chatty drew my name and sent me the most unique gift - lots of fun!

But the person who's name I drew never responded to the gift I sent her; never heard from her again. I know it was delivered because I sent it with confirmation. And while we are giving gifts because we like to, it's always nice to at least hear your gift was received.

I'm open to suggestions...

OR - - how about an online fantasy gift giving party? We could browse the net for way cool things for everyone on this forum! Just yesterday I saw an Animatronic Talking and Singing Elvis and immediately thought of JJ. Of course, since it was only $199, I didn't buy it for her. I know she appreciates hand-made gifts more, right JJ?

The person who got my name in the exchange last year, never bothered to send me a gift at all, something about NO MONEY or some stupid excuse! Not that I needed a gift but then why put your name into the pot to begin with, that is just RUDE! She got her gift I bet.

I love gift exchanges whether white elephant gifts or not but don't know whether I want to take a chance again.

Ladies, we didn't exchange gifts last year for the very reasons you're quoting above. That was two years ago. We only did the card exchanges last year. Remember?

I would do the card exchange this year. I don't think I did it last year, did I? I know I was really busy with my biz, but this year is slower so I'd love to exchange cards.

It's already set up, but thank you. All we have to do is add names/addy, etc, or subtract them. No, you weren't on the list last year. We had about 20 or so names from last year.

Thats right JJ, I remember it was two years ago. I love the card exchange and always put the BWS ladies cards in a place of honor so everyone can see them well. The cards they send are so beautiful and the personal hand written notes inside make ones heart swell with pride.

The white elephant exchange could be fun so long as 'NO ONE' signs up unless they are willing to 'give' and 'get' a gift. It might work well too since we are to give something we already own and are willing to part with. I'm in if we do have one.

DD, I don't believe the work you put into this. Wow...thank you so much for my beverage cooler on wheels. I love it...hahaha...I'm serious...I think it's a great idea.

Of course I want to be on the Xmas card exchange again. Eeee my kitchen would be naked without all your cards!

I think the virtual present idea really cute. It's neat to see what you all come up with. Hey maybe I'll send us all on a cruise around the world.... I know JJ...you are allergic to boats and water...so...I give you your own helicopter to fly next to the boat. Hey the pilot looks like Elvis.

Ooooh! Lightbulb went on!! Why don't we do one of those short cruises for our boomer getaway?? It would be the same as a hotel and meals, and we could share the room with one other person. Whaddya think??
